Cannot argue with the danger of over intellectualizing the Bible. Nor will I argue against deep diving into the original text. But the main purpose God had in mind was for relationship with His creation. For it is He who quickens the Word, for our understanding, with which He draws us into that relationship with Himself.

I was 24yrs old when while seeking truth in the esoteric teachings found myself drawn to read Ezekiel from the Living Bible which isn't a translation but rather a paraphrase of the Bible. I knew about Jesus before that but it was while reading Ezekiel with an open child like posture that my heart began to crack open and I acknowledge Him as Lord. Something transformed in my inner most being at that moment and the relationship took on a whole new dimension that would not have been possible with just head knowledge.
