One day in my mid 30's I decided to read it for the first time. Didn't know where to start so closed my eyes and opened it. It was Proverbs. Read the first verse and said HOLY COW. Then spent months reading the N.T. as I read news articles before I got here a few days after the first Q drop. I would find things in the N.T. which referenced something in the O.T. so I would go and check it out.

Within a year I got a picture. The O.T. gave evidence that Jesus was coming and what would happen when He does. It all ties together. The most important to be begins in Matthew 1:17. " Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them".

Then Jesus issued new commandments. (or maybe clarified the old ones). Take this one for instance: "You have heard that it was said to the men of old, 'You shall not kill, and whoever kills will be liable to judgement'. But I say to you every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable for judgement…….."
