Requesting COVID / Back-to-school research input from anons.
In debating whether to send my 2nd grader back to physical school or keep in virtual (and lose our sanity), I've done some quick (non-extensive, so please contribute more if you have time to) research.
I looked up the states that sent kids back to school in-person, and compared their covid numbers over the past few weeks. (https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2020/08/03/every-states-plan-to-reopen-schools-in-the-fall/112599652/) Edit: need to compare the trajectory of states that DID NOT go back in-person yet. Are states who stuck with virtual learning dropping FASTER?
VERY little, if any change at all in the trajectory of Covid graphs for those states. Seems there was no change in the direction of the charts for the first weeks of school in those states. (Saw a couple that had a small spike for a day, before returning to the projected trajectory.
Compared the USA Today article above with numbers from Google and the NY Slimes
