Charles, like the inbred royals in general, never had much by way of intellect. Once, with the monarchy controlled by very clever people in the inner circles of the state and the royals kept fed and watered in grand style, they presented little danger.
With the “we’re Brits just like you“ (barf) marketing strategy, together with the insidious narcissism fomented by social media, the royals have lately come to believe that what they think and say actually matters. Even more sadly, the public has been hoodwinked into accepting this.
Charles is a buffoon, but gets to pursue his pet crank projects. Bonkers, but mostly harmless to others. William is far more dangerous - he’s imbibed eugenics and other Malthusian bullshit from his grandfather, was born with his mother’s innate conviction of always being right (and righteous), and married a woman with overweening ambition. Ingredients for quite a cocktail.
