While for Gary many of the answers to his rhetorical questions may seem obvious and absurd, it isn't the same with the normie population.
Mask wearing has moved beyond virtue-signalling, to a deeply rooted belief by many that anyone not wearing a mask is endangering them and others. This provides yet one more category by which Americans and people WorldWide are being divided against one another.
Many of my family and friends are in this camp, getting angry at others for not masking up.
Until we have some massive disclosure and re-assessment of the numbers and fear promotion, this will be the new normal. And the longer people practice the behavior, the harder to change later once deeply ingrained.
It appears mask-wearing by a sizeable portion of society is here to stay for a while.
