The problem starts with allowing convicted felons to vote in the first place, paying or not paying their fines. There should be a mechanism in place for those who were convicted for possessing small amounts of pot for personal use, but other than that, not being allowed to vote is a reasonable penalty for using poor judgment in committing a felony.
