Scalia didn't get a last wish. He was murdered, so Obozo could appoint another.

After Reid and Obozo removed the fillibuster rule for appelate court judicial and political appointees. They did so, in order to appoint a far left judge to a vacant seat and expand the court by 2 seats, and appoint 2 more far left judges. Adding NEW seats is called court packing. There was no valid practical reason to add the seats. Even the press couldn't sell it.

So, instead of using valid methods to sell it to the American People, Harry Reid (Senate Majority Leader) changed the Senate rules to allow such important decision to made by mob rules.

This move did two things. It gauged tolerance of court packing for voters, and gave Obozo and his admin a get out of jail free card, and made certain disputes between a D admin and R congress/senate would be heavily slanted to the left.

Obozo and Reid planned on packing ALL appelate courts. This would substantially reduce the power of a

right leaning SCOTUS, because they can't overturn everything.

However, the R's took control of the senate in 2014, and Mitch McConnel put the brakes on this. Obozo did not fight this very hard.

Given the power the fillibuster change gave the Senate Majority Leader, and that Obozo was not upset at losing his opportunity to pack the other appelate courts, like he knew Hillary was going to run and win.
