Employees told they can’t wear BLM buttons at Seattle-area Fred Meyer and QFC stores

Sep. 22, 2020 at 7:35 pm Updated Sep. 22, 2020 at 10:20 pm

In the latest row over protest symbols in the workplace, employees at Seattle-area QFC and Fred Meyer

stores say that a ban on “Black Lives Matter” buttons violates federal labor law and their union contract.

“I think they’re afraid they’ll lose money” by offending some customers, said Motoko Kusanagi, who works

at the QFC in Seattle’s University Village, where she says the store’s director has been “pulling people aside

individually and asking them to take the pin off.”

Carlos Osweda: Why this moment in American history was sixty years in the making

People ask me why I say that this moment in American history was sixty years in the making.

@realDonaldTrump knows.

It started with the "Beat movement" or the "Beat Generation."

What was THAT?

This was the start of societal decay.

"Beat" meant "exhausted, worn out."

By having to be civilized.

They advocated MASSIVE drug use, sexual hedonism, and rebellion against all possible norms.

It wasn't good enough for them to wreck THEIR lives; they had to wreck EVERYBODY'S life.

They needed FOLLOWERS.

Acolytes.

They preyed on the young and impressionable.

WHAT HAD THERY SUFFERED?

Nothing at all. It was another movement based on a lie.

The 1950s were ANYTHING BUT conformist.

This is an academic construct.

People wore suits AS A DISGUISE.

Like Trump, they blended in so that they could do what they wanted UNDISTURBED.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police issued warnings Tuesday night to a group gathered outside the Penumbra Kelly Building.

Police tweeted at about 10:30 p.m., saying there was a “mass gathering” at the office building that was blocking East Burnside Street.

Officers warned the group to not enter the property, saying those who trespass could face arrest, citation, or the

use of crowd control agents such as pepper spray.

Tuesday marked the second night in a row that protesters gathered outside the Penumbra Kelly Building. The crowd

also blocked traffic on Monday night but no arrests were made. The PPB said the group left around 12:30 a.m. and

thanked them for remaining peaceful.
