ZTE suspends trading in HK and Shenzhen after US ban

The U.S. Commerce Department imposed the ban following ZTE’s violation of an agreement on punishing employees that was reached after it was caught illegally shipping U.S. goods to Iran.

The US has charged the Shenzhen-based manufacturer with violating a 2017 settlement that followed allegations it illegally sold restricted equipment to Iran and North Korea. The move would prohibit any US company from doing business with ZTE anywhere in the world.
