SEATTLE - A resident facing eviction was accused of stabbing two people, one of them the property manager, during a dispute that turned into a standoff Wednesday at a high-rise apartment building in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood, police and other residents said.
The SWAT team and mental health counselors were called to Centennial Tower and Court Apartments, located at 2515 Fourth Ave., around 11:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing, authorities said. Police say the suspect was taken into custody just after 5:00 p.m.
When paramedics arrived, they found a man suffering from at least one stab wound, said Kristin Tinsley of the Seattle Fire Department. He was rushed for treatment to Harborview Medical Center, but information about his condition was not immediately disclosed.
A resident told KOMO News that one of the victims was the property manager of the building, which is owned by Equity Properties.
A 48-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in today’s attack.
