Pineville, LA Police say officer shot himself and patrol car, then claimed he was ambushed
KALB 5 News in Alexandria is reporting that it involved Officer John Goulart, Jr., and it happened at a shopping center in Pineville. Goulart was shot once in the leg and also one bullet hit the back door of his patrol car. However, investigators say that Goulart himself fired those shots.
Goulart has now been charged with criminal mischief and malfeasance in office. At last word he remained in the Rapides Parish Detention Center waiting for a judge to set his bond. Meanwhile, he has been placed on leave from the Pineville Police Department.
