Enter plan B. The voting software company Tyler Technologies was hacked on 9/23/2020, yesterday. Today democrats are pivoting to encourage in-person voting. Now that challenged mail-in ballots are likely to be trashed they need to make up the loss with in-person voting so the software "fix" can do its magic. They need to lower the margin so the exit polling will not be so far off to raise questions.
