Fire Breaks Out At Huawei's 5G Antenna Research Lab

As the seemingly never-ending squabbling over TikTok's deal with Oracle and Walmart drags on, the Trump administration's battle with tech giant Huawei Technologies has seemingly taken a backseat over the last couple of weeks to this newest distraction.

But in a shocking new developing, a Huawei research lab in Dongguan caught fire on Friday, according to Reuters and local Chinese press.

The Chinese state-controlled Global Times confirmed reports of the fire but assured the public that nobody was injured.

"The lab in the city's Songshan Lake area is a steel structure and the main material burning is sound-absorbing cotton," Dongguan city fire-rescue department said in a statement.

The lab is allegedly the site for where the tech giant conducts testing for 4G and 5G antennas related to Huawei's base station business, sources told Reuters.

The Global Times noted the building was under construction at the time of the blaze. Videos from social media show thick black smoke pouring from the research lab.

NBC's Janis Mackey Frayer tweeted a picture of the blaze.

"There are images on Chinese social media of a big fire at Huawei's Dongguan campus near Shenzhen. More to come…," Frayer tweeted.

As for the cause of the fire, right now it's unclear. But we're certainly curious to learn more.

Virginia Governor Northam, Wife Test Positive For COVID-19

Gov. Ralph Northam managed to survive a push to resign amid last year's blackface scandal. But on Friday, the governor's office announced that both the governor and his wife, the first lady of Virginia, had tested positive for COVID-19.

They're hardly the first governors to test positive: Earlier this week, Missouri Gov Mike Parson, a Republican and opponent of mandatory mask rules, tested positive.

Northam, a Democratic governor of a 'swing' state', said he has no symptoms. Virginia first lady Pamela Northam has "mild symptoms," CNN said.

Back in August, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced that a rapid test was positive. But a short time later, DeWine said a more sensitive test came back negative. In July, Oklahoma Gov Kevin Stitt became the first governor to test positive.

"Very Sorry": Kim Jong-Un Issues Ultra Rare Apology Over Killing Of South Official

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has issued an extremely rare apology over the Thursday killing of a South Korean fisheries official who breached the border in the water off the coast while allegedly trying to defect. He had been shot on site by the north's border patrol in a boat who happened upon the life jacket wearing man, his body also immediately burned on coronavirus fears.

Kim's message was that the north was "very sorry" over the "unexpected, unfortunate incident" which was expressed in a letter to South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

"Chairman Kim Jong Un asked to convey that he feels very sorry that instead of giving aid to our compatriots in the South who is struggling with Covid epidemic, we have given President Moon and our compatriots in the South a great disappointment with this unseen misfortune in our sea," the letter read, according to the Blue House.

However Kim did also take Seoul to task for charging Pyongyang with "atrocious acts" before formally inquiring into the matter to learn what had happened.

It further apologized for "an incident that will clearly negatively impact inter-Korean relation" while noting the north had recently upped the intensity of its maritime patrols along the border.

The letter revealed more details about the shocking killing:

In a letter sent to South Korea's Blue House Friday morning, North Korea said units responded to a call that an unidentified male was found floating on an object in the sea. The letter claims about 10 rounds were fired at the man after he did not comply with a soldier's demand to identify himself and subsequent warning shots.

North Korea says only a pool of blood remained on the floating object after the shots were fired. After soldiers presumed the man to be dead, they burned the floating object on site per North Korea's Covid-19 disease prevention measures.

The south's defense ministry had immediately suspected the 'shoot first' reaction by the soldiers had more to do with North Korea's extreme "shoot to kill" anti-coronavirus measures implemented along all border zones. "We assess it was carried out under the North's anti-coronavirus measure," a military official had told AFP.

Seoul defense sources had also said that "circumstances tell us that there was an intent to defect."

But the surprise apology direct from Kim strongly suggests a new and rare softening out of Pyongyang, which could portend near future major diplomatic openings toward peace.

Israel restricts outgoing flights as Netanyahu govt bolsters 2nd coronavirus lockdown

The Israeli government slapped restrictions on outgoing flights on Friday as part of its measures to bolster a second Covid-19 lockdown, imposed last week amid a resurgence in coronavirus cases.

The new rule “enables leaving the country for whoever bought an airplane ticket prior to the beginning of quarantine entry, i.e. today at 1400,” Transport Minister Miri Regev explained in a Facebook post. “The flight ticket buyers beyond this date will not be able to redeem them.” Israelis can return though, “without limitations,” the minister said, adding that a 14-day quarantine will be imposed on people arriving from “red countries” which are registering high coronavirus rates.

Israel tightened its second lockdown – which was imposed on September 18 – on Friday, and will close workplaces, shutter markets and further limit prayers. Authorities had already closed schools and imposed restrictions on work and leisure.

Synagogues will now be closed except on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, which begins on Sunday afternoon, but the numbers of worshippers must be limited. Only outdoor prayers attended by a maximum of 20 people will be allowed at other times.

The new measures had yet to be finalized in parliament just hours before they were due to come into force.

The country, with a population of nine million, has the world’s highest coronavirus infection rate per capita, according to an AFP tally. Health officials have recorded more than 215,000 coronavirus infections and 1,378 deaths to date – and more than 7,500 new cases were reported on Thursday alone.

According to PM Benjamin Netanyahu, the further restrictions were necessary because Israelis have not complied with social distancing requirements.

“Something needs to be done and it must be done now – a tight lockdown, especially during the holidays, when the economic cost is much lower,” he said.

The government had also sought to restrict citizens’ protests to within 1km (0.6 miles) of their homes. This would have effectively halted ongoing demonstrations outside Netanyahu’s residence over his handling of the pandemic and the economy, as well as over corruption allegations. The PM denies any wrongdoing. However, MPs failed to agree on that protest restriction measure before the tightened lockdown took effect on Friday.

Thanks to Judge Emmet Sullivan refusing the DOJ's request to drop the Michael Flynn case, a cache of explosive documents has now been released to the public revealing that at least one FBI agent on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team thought the case was a politically motivated "dead end," and others bought professional liability insurance as their bosses were continuing the investigation based on "conspiracy theories."

Judge Sullivan and the DC Court of Appeals are turning out to be the unintentional heroes of the Flynn saga. In their unseemly quest to destroy Flynn, they refused to let DOJ drop case, and now we're getting some of the most explosive documents about Special Counsel probe yet.

In one case, FBI agent William J. Barnett said during a Sept. 17 interview that he believed Mueller's prosecution of Flynn was part of an attitude to "get Trump," and that he didn't want to pursue the Trump-Russia collusion investigation because it was "not there" and a "dead end," according to Fox News.

Barnett, during his interview, detailed his work at the FBI, and his assignment to the bureau’s original cases against Flynn and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. Barnett said the Flynn investigation was assigned the code name “Crossfire Razor,” which was part of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation — the bureau’s code name for the original Trump-Russia probe.

Barnett told investigators that he thought the FBI’s Trump-Russia probe was “opaque” and “with little detail concerning specific evidence of criminal events.”

“Barnett thought the case theory was ‘supposition on supposition,’” the 302 stated, and added that the “predication” of the Flynn investigation was “not great,” and that it “was not clear” what the “persons opening the case wanted to ‘look for or at.’”

After six weeks of investigating, Barnett said he was “still unsure of the basis of the investigation concerning Russia and the Trump campaign working together, without a specific criminal allegation.” -Fox News

When Barnett approached agents about what they thought the 'end game' was with Flynn - suggesting they interview the former National Security Adviser "and the case be closed unless derogatory information was obtained," he was cautioned not to conduct an interview, as it may tip Flynn off that he was under investigation.

"Barnett still did not see any evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government," the 302 states. "Barnett was willing to follow any instructions being given by the deputy director as long as it was not a violation of the law."

UK’s chief scientific adviser has £600,000 of shares in vaccine maker contracted by govt – reports

UK Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance reportedly holds a bonus of tens of thousands of shares in a pharma giant developing a Covid-19 vaccine for the government. Yet, London says there is no conflict of interest.

Vallance, who also chairs the government’s expert advisory panel on vaccines, appears to have retained over 43,000 shares in GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) – a UK-based multinational pharmaceutical company – worth £600,000, The Telegraph reported.

The shareholding appears to be the legacy of his previous job as the head of research and development at the very same company. Over his tenure from 2012 to 2018, Vallance accumulated a total of 404,201 GSK shares worth a whopping £6.1 million in his hands, according to the British media.

However, he sold more than £5 million worth of shares after being appointed to the government. GSK, meanwhile, has entered the global race to provide the world with a vaccine against coronavirus – alongside some 20 other drug manufacturers and research centers. The endeavor might prove quite lucrative, should the company succeed.

The pharma giant working together with another drug manufacturer – Sanofi – has already struck deals with the UK and the US governments to supply them with a Covid-19 vaccine in case its efforts are fruitful. The contract would see GSK providing as many as 60 million doses to the UK and 100 million doses to the US. Washington already reportedly paid the two companies £1.65 million to accelerate their efforts.

Since it received the government contracts, GSK’s share price rose by some two percent. Vallance has meanwhile been busy ensuring that the UK would get enough vaccine doses if GSK is successful and contributing to the vaccine development efforts.

Former sheriff's deputy sentenced to jail for sex with 16-year-old son of ex-boyfriend

This happened on the night the teen's mother invited the deputy over to talk to the boy about his drug use

A former sheriff's deputy was sentenced Wednesday to a year in jail for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The juvenile was the 16-year-old son of her ex-boyfriend.

Shauna Bishop was a Sacramento County sheriff's deputy, who had been reportedly dating a man who also worked for the sheriff's department and said to be "a high-ranking officer." In April 2019, the man allegedly broke off the relationship after a year.

The man told his ex-wife that he was concerned that Bishop's relationship with their son was "inappropriate" and that Shauna was "grooming" the boy, according to court records.

The boy's mother checked her son's cellphone records to investigate.

"I found nothing that led me to believe there was more to the relationship than what it was," she told police.

Despite the father's concerns, the mother and Bishop became close friends after the breakup, according to the Sacramento Bee.

On April 28, 2019, the mother asked the sheriff's deputy to come to her home and talk to her son about his drinking and marijuana use, court documents said. Bishop, 44, arrived at 8 p.m. and ended up staying overnight.

"We all three sat on the couch and I wanted Shauna there with me because (the victim) really responds well to her and I knew it would be easier to discuss if she was with me," the boy's mother told the police.

Later that night, Bishop went into the boy's room, and they engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sex, according to a statement the 16-year-old provided to authorities. About two weeks after the incident, the boy reportedly told his 19-year-old sister about the encounter. She informed their mother, who contacted the Folsom Police Department, which began an investigation.

According to court documents, authorities had the mother call Bishop to ask if she "did something" the night she slept over. The mother then told her that she knew about Bishop's 69-minute phone call with the teen a day after the incident.

"When he told me what happened, I had no idea," Bishop is quoted as saying, according to court documents. "I was so drugged. I thought it was a dream. I've been so sick over it. I literally have no recollection."

Bishop hinted that she had been under the influence of the Ambien, which both women reportedly took on the night of the incident.

The teen did not initially inform police about the sexual contact with Bishop because he was concerned about her and her children, court documents said.

"I really don't want anything to happen to Shauna," the boy told police. "I am worried for her kids. She has a 16-year-old daughter and 20-year-old daughter and I don't want to see them get hurt. I really wish this would all just go away."

Texas Sheriff Arrested, Charged with Sexually Assaulting His Fellow Officers

Falls County Sheriff Ricky Scaman was sued — twice — for allegedly sexually assaulting two of his employees. Despite both of the cases being settled, Scaman remained the sheriff and was praised in the local media as a hero. He never faced legal action, likely due to his status as the sheriff. All that has since changed this week, however, as the sheriff has since been arrested.

Scaman was arrested Monday on charges including sexual assault and assault of a public servant, based on an investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety, according to a report in the Waco Tribune.

According to police, Scaman, 48, was booked into Bell County Jail after the Texas Rangers arrested him on a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault and two third-degree felony charges of assault of a public servant.

A Falls County grand jury issued the five-count indictment on Monday. It was presented by the Texas Attorney General’s Office, which will prosecute the case. The indictment accuses this celebrated drug warrior sheriff of multiple crimes, including the sexual assault of one of his colleagues as recent as Aug. 5.

According to the Tribune, the same victim also accused Scaman of making sexually harassing statements and of making unwelcome sexual advances or other verbal or physical contact in August, the indictment states. According to the indictment, one victim claims Scaman grabbed her breasts or genitals, while he was “acting under color of his office as a public servant, namely Falls County sheriff.”

A second accuser alleged in April that Scaman sexually harassed and made sexual advances while he was serving as sheriff. The indictment states that the victim was an employee of the Falls County Jail at the time of the incident.

As stated above, Scaman was sued twice in the last two years by former employees who made similar claims that he subjected them to unwanted sexual advances and harassment. Both lawsuits have since been settled, court documents state.

One of his victims in the lawsuits brought forth disturbing allegations against the sheriff. Former dispatcher and jailer Shirley Lynn Boger, alleged in a lawsuit that Scaman called her into his office on more than 20 occasions and licked her face, groped her and sexually assaulted her.

“She could barely breath or move. When Scaman was done using [her] body for his personal sexual gratification, he told her to straighten up her uniform and leave his office,” her federal complaint said, adding she “tried to gather her composure and return to her duties on the jail floor.”

Another victim, Nanci Anderson, his former assistant chief deputy, filed a federal lawsuit that compared Scaman to disgraced movie producer Harvey Weinstein, noting “even a modicum of power in the wrong hands can wreak havoc.”

Anderson said Scaman barraged her with sexual texts, demanded she send him nude photos and repeatedly tried to pressure her to have sex in his hotel room while they were on a work trip.

Scaman was placed in the Bell County Jail on Monday evening with a bond listed at $195,000. Hopefully, if he is guilty, he gets the maximum sentence.

The Democrats’ 7-Step Strategy to Win the Election Using Vote-by-Mail Chaos

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” Democratic political operative Rahm Emanuel famously said. The former Chicago mayor’s point was that a crisis gives political players the opportunity to bend, and maybe even break, the normal rules.

Today, the country is facing a Covid-19 crisis, as well as a crisis of rioting in the streets and a spiking crime rate, and now even a vacancy on the Supreme Court. But as far as Democrats are concerned, the real crisis is Donald Trump, and these other crises provide an opportunity to defeat him.

With less than 40 days until Election Day—and with early voting starting even sooner—Democrats and their media allies (or the “Democrat-Media Complex,” as Andrew Breitbart liked to call them) are not wasting these crises in their quest to win back the White House.

We can see a seven-step Democratic strategy emerge to win the election by unleashing chaos in our voting system, violence in our streets, and a legal fight that could lead all the way to highest court in the land, which is currently missing a member.

1. Never let a Covid crisis go to waste! Use the pandemic to push for a nation-wide vote-by-mail scheme.

By now we’re all familiar with the inequities, even idiocies, of the Covid-19 lockdown rules. In many states and cities, it’s forbidden to have normal assembly for social gatherings, businesses, church services, and even hospital visits.

On the other hand, it’s okay to have massive Black Lives Matter protests, Antifa riots, and anything else the left approves of, at least tacitly. Obviously, such unequal treatment is a formula for societal frustration, rage, and, yes, chaos.

And what a friend the Democrats have in crisis and chaos!

In fact, Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris has said that this sort of chaos is likely to continue—and should continue—through the election. “Everyone beware because they’re not going to stop,” Harris said about the (often violent) protests erupting in American cities. “They’re not going to stop before Election Day in November, and they’re not going to stop after Election Day.”

But according to the Democrats, the only certainty in all of this chaos is that Americans—who are safe to take to the streets in mass protests and riots—are not safe to vote in person on November 3. We must vote by mail, they tell us.

Mail-in voting is “essential from a health reason because we want to keep people at home to vote without having them all collect on Election Day,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said last month. “People should not have to choose between their health and their vote.”

If you’re still scratching your head wondering why it’s safe to riot but not to vote, veteran political consultant Dick Morris explained the Democrats’ game plan: “If they feel they’re legitimately losing the election, [they] are going to use the excuse of the Covid virus—nobody can come out and vote in person, they claim … and they’re going to deliberately game the system by sending out millions and millions of mail-in ballots for people that don’t exist or have already voted.”

“And the states will not verify the [mail-in ballot] signatures because they are under the control of Democrats,” Morris added.

1. Enlist all the messengers at your disposal (Hollywood, Corporate Media, Big Tech, Pro Sports) to push for vote-by-mail.

The Democrats are using every tool in their considerable arsenal to push the vote-by-mail messaging, including multi-million-dollar super PAC ad campaigns. Former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar has teamed up with failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams to mandate a national vote-by-mail system, and a group called Stop Republicans has launched a digital blitz to push for the idea.

But the Democrats’ favorite tool is, of course, Hollywood and pop culture.

As early as April, about a month into the coronavirus shutdown, the Hollywood wing of the Democrat-Media Complex kicked into high gear to push vote-by-mail.

Actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, who were among the first big name figures to contract Covid-19, teamed up with former First Lady Michelle Obama and former Obama White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett in April for an ostensibly non-partisan virtual voter registration drive that encouraged states to loosen vote-by-mail requirements.

Yet in the meantime, the ACLU has nothing to say when we discover, for example, that during the 2020 Michigan primaries, the number of ballots counted in 72 percent of Detroit’s absentee ballot precincts didn’t match the number of ballots cast. And the votes counted in 46 percent of all of Detroit’s precincts–both absentee and in-person–didn’t match the number of ballots tracked in the precinct poll books. For perspective on what such abnormalities might portend for the next election, we might observe that Detroit has a population of 670,000. In 2016, Donald Trump won Michigan by a mere 10,704 votes.

Oh, and did we mention that a federal lawsuit filed last year alleged that the city of Detroit had over 2,500 dead people still registered on its voter rolls, and about 4,788 registered Detroit voters were flagged as having potentially registered to vote twice or even three times. But I’m sure none of those dead people will vote by mail, right?

Oh, and while we’re on Michigan, we should also mention that Jocelyn Benson, Michigan’s Democratic Secretary of State who was endorsed by Joe Biden and was a featured speaker at the Democratic National Convention, misprinted the ballots that were created for Michigan voters serving in the military overseas. Guess which candidate was listed incorrectly? You guessed it: Trump! The bad ballots list the Libertarian Party’s vice presidential candidate as President Trump’s running mate instead of Mike Pence. But don’t worry. The spokesperson for Michigan’s Democratic-Biden-endorsed-DNC-speaking Secretary of State has assured us that clerks “will be instructed to duplicate a vote for Trump” for any military voter who mails in one of these misprinted ballots.

In the face of all this potentially embarrassing data, the Democrats have decided that the best defense is a good offense. For instance, Joe Biden stays on the offensive, regularly accusing President Trump of seeking to squelch vote-by-mail; but he never allows that vote-by-mail might need to be reformed. Biden charged on September 7 that Trump “wants to make sure those mail-in ballots don’t get where they’re supposed to get.”

We might wonder: If Biden routinely accuses Trump of cheating, should we be surprised if Democratic activists get the hint and decide that they could, and should, cheat on Biden’s behalf? After all, they might rationalize these efforts as fighting fire with fire.

Cheat-inclined Democrats might draw inspiration from an anonymous Democratic consultant in New Jersey who recently confessed to the New York Post that “fraud is more the rule than the exception.” The consultant explained the various ways in which political operatives can harvest mail-in ballots, change them by inserting different ballots into the envelope, use friendly postal workers to disappear ballots in neighborhoods that lean Republican, and so forth. A few hundred bogus ballots here and there can change an election.

“An election that is swayed by 500 votes, 1,000 votes — it can make a difference,” the Democratic operative said. “It could be enough to flip states.”

Indeed, even Democratic pets can make a difference—and they don’t even have to be alive! Recently in Atlanta, a family got a voter registration application in the mail for their deceased house cat named Cody.

How did that happen, you ask? Well, outside third-party groups can rent mailing lists and randomly send everyone on the list an absentee-ballot application or voter registration application that they downloaded from the state’s election website. Have you ever used your pet’s name to subscribe to something because you didn’t want junk mail in your own name? If so, don’t be surprised if Fluffy or Spot gets a voter registration or absentee ballot application in the mail.

Georgia’s election officials assure us that Cody the cat would not have been able to vote at the polls in the Peach State because the cat doesn’t have a license or state ID. But one wonders if he would be allowed to vote by mail, assuming his registration application cleared. And, of course, not every state requires a photo ID to vote like Georgia does.

No doubt with that pleasing prospect in mind—good things come to those who wait—Hillary Clinton has urged Team Biden to carry on the struggle by any means necessary, even if their man seems to have lost on November 3. “Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually, I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch,” she said. “This is a big organizational challenge.”

Hillary is hardly alone in making this charge. Indeed, Democrats and Never Trump Republicans have set up something called the Transition Integrity Project, which has conducted many “war games” in which #Resistance figures role-play various scenarios.

Given the likelihood of difficulties on and around Election Day—who can forget, for example, that back in February, it took the Democrats a full 26 days to decide who had won their Iowa caucus—it might seem reasonable to think that such gaming and planning could be useful civic exercise. Except, of course, we know that the lessons learned will only be applied to the mission of getting rid of Trump. If Trump wins, the Transition Integrity Project will likely have nothing to say about the inevitable Antifa protests, etc.

In fact, now everyone seems to be on message that we should pay no attention to the results on Election Day because the real count will be yet to come. Hence Mark Zuckerberg, whose Facebook empire is in the middle of everything political these days, said recently, “What we and the other media need to start doing is preparing the American people that there is nothing illegitimate about this election taking additional days or weeks to make sure all the votes are counted.”

Facebook has also reportedly announced that it may “restrict the circulation of content” following the election in order to curb civil unrest if (when?) things turn violent. And perhaps this also an example of pre-spin.

Meanwhile, a massive network of well-funded left-wing groups are organizing to take to the streets to make sure the results are in their favor—while claiming that they are simply preparing in anticipation of Trump supporters’ being violent.

On September 8, the increasingly woke Daily Beast bannered: “The Left Secretly Preps for MAGA Violence After Election Day.” As the article detailed, a left-wing group founded after the 2016 election, boasting the militant name of Fight Back Table, has just founded an even newer left-wing group, the Democracy Defense Nerve Center, which is already prepping for Election Day trouble. As one activist told the Beast, the group has been planning out how it can “occupy shit, hold space, and shut things down, not just on Election Day but for weeks.”

The article identifies the point person of these efforts as one Deirdre Schifeling, described as “a former top official at Planned Parenthood,” and adds:

The coalition includes labor groups, like SEIU and the American Federation of Teachers, social justice entities like Color of Change, and progressive movement outfits like Indivisible and MoveOn. It is also collaborating with mission ally Protect the Results, a group of 80-plus left-of-center and some NeverTrump entities that are also planning mass mobilization in more than 1,000 locations across the country.

Reacting to the article, conservative Michael Brendan Dougherty tweeted mordantly, “If one major party is constantly signaling its commitment to the strategy of precipitating a regime crisis, maybe the regime crisis is already upon us.”

Indeed, as Breitbart News reported, one group tweeted out a call to action to “get in the streets” starting on Election Day:

“On Nov. 3. After you vote, get in the streets! Donald Trump must go and we must make it happen!” reads a post tweeted in August by the far-left ShutDownDC, an “organizing space” partnering with Protect the Results which plans to “rise up to confront the Trump administration’s attacks on democracy” and offers training sessions for coalition members to prepare to take “direct action.”

And, of course, the message for American voters: If you don’t want your neighborhood burned down, you better vote Trump out.

In the meantime, we should ask: Are Republicans prepared to deal with the legal chaos vote-by-mail balloting will unleash?

Report: Gun Sales Surge 80 Percent in Seven Swing States

Gun sales have been rising nationwide for months but are specifically up in seven swing states as the November 3, 2020, election approaches.

Fox News reports the Cook Political Report lists “Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as toss-ups” in the coming election. They also indicate New Hampshire and North Carolina can be considered toss-ups too.

Here is the kicker: There is a 77.9 percent surge in “gun sales growth” for those seven states.

This news is on top of National Shooting Sports Foundation’s findings ammunition sales surged 139 percent nationally during the first six months of 2020. And the surge in swing state gun sales comes as 2020 witnesses eight consecutive months of record background checks for gun sales.

On September 2, 2020, Breitbart News reported that January 2020 through August 2020, eight consecutive months, saw record gun sale background checks performed by the FBI.

What do these surging background checks, gun sales, and ammunition sales, indicate for the November elections, particularly where they are seen in swing states?

Do gun purchasers turn into gun voters, who will support Second Amendment candidates over gun control candidates?

Fox News spoke to Ken Mahoney, political and financial analyst and CEO of Mahoney Asset Management, who observed the tight races in swing states during the 2016 election. He said, “These states had a margin of victory of less than 1% in 2016, so each campaign is sure to increase their focus on these areas over the next 41 days.”

He then addressed the surge in gun purchases: “This issue is important for many Americans, and this is shown in the recent spike in gun sales as people fear the sale of firearms will be banned if Biden were to win.”

France Demands Brussels Force Every EU Nation to Take Third World Migrants

France has demanded that every EU country be forced to take in a share of illegal immigrants arriving on European soil.

Speaking to France Inter on Wednesday, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin asserted that “the migration question can only be settled at the European level” and that every EU nation must share the burden of resettling third world migrants.

“We still want a European solidarity. There is no reason why only Italy, France, and Germany, broadly speaking, with Greece share this solidarity,” Darmanin said.

The French minister made his remarks shortly before Brussels revealed that a “compulsory solidarity mechanism” would be part of plans to force a Europe-wide asylum and migration system on every country in the bloc.

While the new plan technically has no mandatory relocation system — a major point of contention to countries including Hungary and Poland, which do not wish to become multicultural states in the mould of France and Germany — details within the proposals suggest Brussels plans to force migrants on unwilling nations by the back door.

Countries which decline to resettle migrants directly would be made to instead show “solidarity” by taking responsibility for the return of illegal immigrants to their homelands.

However, if the deportations are not carried off successfully — and pro-mass migration NGOs and lawyers have proven very effective at frustrating deportations — the government sponsoring the returns would be punished by having to in migrants after all.

Despite widespread French concern that mass immigration from the Global South has made their country a much more violent and dangerous place to live, the government has insisted on importing many of the steady stream of illegal immigrants who continue to be trafficked to Europe.

Local media in Malta reported Wednesday that a large group of migrants had been transported to France, with “hundreds” more to be flown there in the coming weeks.

An NGO boat operated by German open borders campaign group Sea-Eye is currently headed to Marseilles with 125 illegal immigrants in tow after Italians refused to let the vessel dock.

Speaking for the far-left Green Party mayor of the multicultural French city, Michèle Rubirola, deputy mayor Benoît Payan said Marseilles was ready to welcome the activists’ latest shipment of migrants.

While the French government has been generous in offering taxpayers’ money up to the cause of housing and feeding an essentially limitless stream of immigrants from Africa and the Middle East, many of the newcomers will be seeking to break into Britain illegally once they arrive in France.

Hundreds of migrants have been illegally crossing the English Channel to the United Kingdom each day, with the latest official figures showing over 6,400 have come by boat so far this year — more than triple the number recorded in 2019.

63 Arrested in Mountain Smuggling Operations in New Mexico near Border

El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended several groups of migrants illegally crossing into New Mexico on September 21. Agents noted the danger of these nighttime smuggling attempts through mountainous terrain.

Agents assigned to the Santa Teresa Border Patrol station utilizing surveillance equipment observed multiple groups crossing the border in the Mt. Cristo Rey area. The groups varied in size from 3 to 13, according to El Paso Sector officials.

Officials report the lack of border walls in the region and the natural concealment characteristics of the Mt. Cristo Rey region make for prime opportunities for the human smuggling operations of Transnational Criminal Organizations. “The treacherous terrain through this mountainous area also poses many dangers for migrants,” officials said in a written statement.

Agents worked all of the independent smuggling attempts and apprehended 63 migrants. The migrants came to the U.S. from multiple countries including Cuba, Ecuador, and Honduras. Agents report migrants from “several other nations.”

Indicative of the dangers of these types of smuggling operations, Border Patrol agents provided first aid to one of the people who sustained an injury from crossing through the “treacherous terrain,” officials reported.

“The hazardous terrain of Mt. Cristo Rey and its surrounding area continues to be exploited by Transnational Criminal Organizations,” stated El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez. “The limited visibility during the hours of darkness and the steep terrain increases the risk of injuries for migrants exploited by smugglers that have complete disregard for human safety.”

Through the first 11 months of Fiscal Year 2020, which began on September 1, 2019, El Paso Sector agents apprehended 46,455 migrants who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry. Single adults made up the largest portion of these illegal immigrants (32,309). Family Unit Aliens accounted for 10,075 of the balance while Unaccompanied Alien Children filled out the numbers at 4,171, according to the CBP’s August Southwest Border Migration Report.
