The US government had a historical distrust of BIS, lobbying unsuccessfully for its demise at the 1944 post-WWII Bretton Woods Conference.

Instead the Eight Families’ power was exacerbated, with the Bretton Woods creation of the IMF and the World Bank.

Bretton Woods became a boon to the Eight Families. The IMF and World Bank were central to this “new world order”.

The Four Horsemen of Banking (Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo) own the Four Horsemen of Oil (Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch/Shell, BP and Chevron Texaco); in tandem with Deutsche Bank, BNP, Barclays and other European old money behemoths.

The Federal Reserve Cartel: Who owns the Federal Reserve? Their monopoly over the global economy does not end at the edge of the oil patch. According to company 10K filings to the SEC, the Four Horsemen of Banking are among the top ten stock holders of virtually every Fortune 500 corporation.

So who owns the Federal Reserve and are the stockholders in these money center banks? This information is guarded much more closely.

My queries to bank regulatory agencies regarding stock ownership in the top 25 US bank holding companies were given Freedom of Information Act status, before being denied on “national security” grounds.

This is rather ironic, since many of the bank’s stockholders reside in Europe. One important repository for the wealth of the global oligarchy that owns these bank holding companies is US Trust Corporation – founded in 1853 and now owned by Bank of America. A recent US Trust Corporate Director and Honorary Trustee was Walter Rothschild.

Other directors included Daniel Davison of JP Morgan Chase, Richard Tucker of Exxon Mobil, Daniel Roberts of Citigroup and Marshall Schwartz of Morgan Stanley. J. W. McCallister, an oil industry insider with House of Saud connections, wrote in The Grim Reaper that information he acquired from Saudi bankers cited 80% ownership of the New York Federal Reserve Bank– by far the most powerful Fed branch- by just eight families, four of which reside in the US.

CPA Thomas D. Schauf corroborates McCallister’s claims, adding that ten banks control all twelve Federal Reserve Bank branches.

He names N.M. Rothschild of London, Rothschild Bank of Berlin, Warburg Bank of Hamburg, Warburg Bank of Amsterdam, Lehman Brothers of New York, Lazard Brothers of Paris, Kuhn Loeb Bank of New York, Israel Moses Seif Bank of Italy, Goldman Sachs of New York and JP Morgan Chase Bank of New York.

Schauf lists William Rockefeller, Paul Warburg, Jacob Schiff and James Stillman as individuals who own large shares of the Fed. The Schiffs are insiders at Kuhn Loeb.

The Stillmans are Citigroup insiders, who married into the Rockefeller clan at the turn of the century. Eustace Mullins came to the same conclusions in his book The Secrets of the Federal Reserve, in which he displays charts connecting the Fed and its member banks to the families of Rothschild, Warburg, Rockefeller and the others.

The control that these banking families exert over the global economy cannot be overstated and is quite intentionally shrouded in secrecy.

The CIA Has Never Worked for the American People, Part 2

Historically, the U.S. never had an official permanent civilian central intelligence agency. The functions of intelligence and espionage were carried out by the State Department, the different branches of the armed forces, particularly the Navy, and the FBI. This explains why, after the end of WWII, Truman disbanded the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in charge of intelligence and refused to hear its chief, General Bill Donovan, arguments favoring the creation of a central intelligence agency. It contributed to his decision the fact that rumors that Donovan was trying to create an American Gestapo had been leaked to the press, most likely by FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.

It is likely that Truman, who was malleable putty in the hands of the CFR conspirators, actually acted under pressure from Hoover. The FBI director, perhaps not fully acting out of patriotism, but just defending his turf —the FBI was in charge of counterespionage in Latin America and was doing an excellent job— hated the OSS and strongly opposed its reincarnation in the form of a central intelligence agency.[1] And everybody, including the president, feared Hoover and his secret files he euphemistically called “biographical leverage.” As head of the FBI, Hoover knew the closets where all the skeletons were hiding —sometimes literally— and kept detailed records of it.

But Hoover, who had his own skeletons in the closet,[2] finally caved in to the conspirators’ pressures. So, Truman gave the green light, and the Congress passed the National Security Act of 1947 that established the National Security Council and the Central Intelligence Agency.

Like all important documents in the history of the U.S. since the beginning of the past century, the National Security Act, as well as Wilson’s Fourteen Points, the League of Nations, the Federal Reserve Bank, the Federal Income Tax, the Lend Lease, the Containment Doctrine,[3] the Marshall Plan,[4] the Alliance for Progress,[5] the FEMA, the nefarious Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Security, had been written by the CFR globalist conspirators at the Harold Pratt House in Manhattan and placed on the President’s desk for him to sign.

Nevertheless, the National Security Act did not mention that the CIA could carry out covert operations. It was the National Security Council who on a series of secret intelligence directives bequeathed the authority to the newly created Agency to conduct covert operations to the CIA behind the backs of the American public.

So, the first measure taken by the National Security Council, a legally created government organization pushed down the throats of the American people under the pretext of avoiding intelligence “surprises” like Pearl Harbor, was to pass, behind the backs of the American people and its representatives in the Congress, an illegal directive they had no legal power to pass —the NSC had no executive powers—, authorizing the CIA to conduct illegal covert operations.

The document that gave the beast its fangs, was National Security Directive NSC 10/2, dated June 18, 1948, written by CFR agent George Kennan. By it, a new semi-independent, highly secret organization was created within the CIA under the intentionally vague name of Office of Special Projects (OSP), and CFR agent Frank Wisner was appointed to head it. Soon after, the OSP was renamed with the even more innocuous name Office of Policy Coordination(OPC).[6] Author John Loftus found out that the Office of Policy Coordination was actually a secret CFR-controlled covert action department hidden from the American public and depending directly from Secretary of Defense James V. Forrestal, a CFR agent, and what Loftus calls “the Dulles (John Foster Dulles, a senior CFR agent) faction in the State Department.”[7]

Greece to Recruit 800 New Border Guards After Turks Push Migrants to Frontier

Greek Minister of Civil Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis has revealed that another 400 border guards will be recruited to man the border in addition to the 400 previously announced by the government.

Minister Chrysochoidis made the announcement on Tuesday during a visit to the Evros border region and was welcomed by local vice mayor Dimitris Petrovic, who took to Facebook to thank the minister for increasing the contingent of border guards.

“Recruitment of more (more than 400) border guards in Evros was our permanent request, and we thank the minister,” Petrovic said.

According to a report from Greek newspaper Kathimerini, Minister Chrysochoidis met with other local officials in the region to talk about the national government’s plans to expand the border fence in Evros as well.

The paper stated that the minister was also discussing monetary compensation for landowners in the area where the new fencing will be built.

Vice Mayor Petrovic told Greek media that the border guards and the extension of the border fence would bring jobs to the region and could encourage young people in the area to stay rather than look for work elsewhere.

Earlier this month, Greek Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum Giorgos Koumoutsakos warned that Turkey under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan could unleash another wave of migrants later this month if the European Union imposes sanctions over Turkey’s activities in the Mediterranean.

Koumoutsakos also claimed that migrant pressure along the border had begun to increase again after largely dying down due to restrictions placed along the border area by Turkey following the outbreak of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

In February, Erdogan deliberately opened the gates to Europe, and Greek officials claim that at least 50,000 migrants attempted to cross the border before it was shut down in March.

ICE El Paso transfers 59 Mexican nationals with drug convictions to Mexico as part of the US-Mexico treaty transfer

EL PASO, Texas – Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) transferred 59 Mexican nationals, serving prison sentences for drug convictions in the United States, to their home country Wednesday.

ICE officers in El Paso turned over the inmates – all men – to Mexican authorities at the Santa Teresa Port of Entry in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

“The transfer of these inmates, who will complete their drug sentences in their home country, demonstrates the robust cooperation between the United States and Mexico,” said Juan Acosta, acting field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) El Paso. “ICE is carrying out its mission by removing convicted criminal aliens from the country, and at the same time, saving taxpayer dollars by removing these individuals from our prison system.”

All 59 inmates transferred Wednesday were serving sentences for conspiring to possess with the intention to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture of substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. The inmates will complete the remainder of their sentences in Mexico as part of the treaty. The process included the inmates requesting to be transferred to their home country.

ICE officers interviewed the 59 Mexican nationals, who were transferred from prisons throughout the United States to the La Tuna Federal Correctional Institute in Vinton, Texas, to await their transfer, and to ensure they were amenable to removal under the Immigration and Nationality Act.

The U.S. Congress enacted this legislation in December 1977 authorizing the United States to participate in international prisoner transfers and set the requirements of the transfer program. The United States entered in to its first transfer treaty with Mexico in 1977, and since that time has entered into 11 additional bilateral transfer agreements and two multilateral transfer conventions. These international agreements give the United States transfer treaty relationships with nearly 80 countries.

This is the second such transfer in the past year. In December, 41 inmates were removed to Mexico as part of the treaty.

Migrant or blast victim? Lebanon starts DNA testing washed up bodies

Lebanon’s security forces have started carrying out DNA tests on bodies that washed up on the country’s coast to determine whether they are victims of the 4 August Beirut blast or of a recent migrant boat tragedy, Arab News reported.

At least five bodies that were discovered washed up on Lebanon’s northern coast are being DNA tested by security forces so they can be identified.

The bodies could be some of the nine people still missing after the massive explosion which rocked Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, last month, killing nearly 200 and injuring thousands more.

At least one port worker, who had been blown into the sea during the explosion, was rescued alive from the water 30 hours after the blast. He later died in hospital, but his case has raised hope other missing people could be found at sea.

There are also fears, however, that the bodies could be migrants who were passengers on a recent doomed attempt to reach Cyprus by sea.

The boat, which hosted at least 50 Lebanese and Syrian migrants, according to Arab News, left the northern shores of Lebanon on 7 September.

The vessel was later abandoned by the ship’s handler and left to drift in the Mediterranean Sea for nearly a week, before it was discovered in international waters by UN peacekeepers.

Survivors told Al-Arabiya they had survived on sea water, powdered milk and toothpaste, but that several passengers had either died, been left at sea, or jumped overboard in an attempt to find help.

At least one man was pulled from the water alive by the UNIFIL Maritime Task Force after he attempted to swim to safety. However, several others have disappeared, and at least four bodies, believed to have been passengers on the vessel, were pulled from the sea earlier this week.

The number of attempted crossings has increased sharply in recent months, reflecting growing desperation in crisis-hit Lebanon.

Economic collapse, the coronavirus pandemic, rising poverty and the trauma of the 4 August explosion have pushed dozens of Lebanese to make for Cyprus.

The UNHCR and UNICIF have both called for the “root causes” of these migration patterns, namely “poverty and lack of economic opportunities”, to be addressed.

Meanwhile, Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun on Tuesday called, during a virtual speech for the UN’s 75th anniversary, for international help to secure the safe return of Syrian refugees, saying that the Mediterranean state can no longer afford to host them.

Coronavirus Testing Suspended at Boston Lab Due to Nearly 400 False Positives

False positives with coronavirus testing are being reported so often that it makes you wonder how many ARE NOT being reported.

Unfortunately, this hasn’t stopped testing or the introduction and marketing of new testing kits or any of the COVID-19 mandates being opposed by American doctors as well as citizens and people worldwide. It also hasn’t stopped invasive and sometimes harmful screening procedures (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Coronavirus testing at Boston lab suspended after nearly 400 false positives

An investigation by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health found that there were at least 383 erroneous positive results.

A Boston lab suspended coronavirus testing after an investigation uncovered nearly 400 false positive COVID-19 results.

Orig3n, a biotechnology company which counts dozens of nursing homes as its clients, ceased testing on Aug. 8 at the request of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The suspension came days after state health officials became aware of an unusually high number of positive coronavirus tests.

An investigation found that there were at least 383 inaccurate positive results from the lab that, upon re-testing, came back as negative.

On Aug. 27, the MDPH said it notified Orig3n they had been cited with “three significant certification deficiencies that put patients at immediate risk of harm.”

“The Boston lab is required to respond with a written plan of correction, and if action is not taken it can face sanctions,” a health department spokesperson said in a statement to NBC News on Wednesday.

The health department said roughly 60 nursing homes either still are or have been clients of Orig3n.

Report: US Top Supplier of Arms in the Middle East

US and European allies supply about 75% of the weapons in the region

A new report from the Center for International Policy (CIP) found that from 2015 to 2019, the US was the number one supplier of weapons in the Middle East and North Africa, supplying 48 percent of the region’s arms. Combining the US arms with its European allies, the Western countries provided nearly three-quarters of the weapons used in the area for that period.

The US was the top weapons supplier by a wide margin, with Russia coming in second at 17 percent. The next four leading suppliers were France with 11 percent, the UK at five percent, Germany at five percent, and China trailed behind exporting three percent of the region’s weapons.

The top recipient for weapons exports was Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom received 30 percent of the weapons transferred to the region. Seventy-four percent of the arms sold to Saudi Arabia came from the US, who is the top provider of weapons for all the Gulf countries.

The CIP study said that proponents for these arms sales describe them as “a force for stability, a way to cement alliances, a way to counter Iran, or, more generally, as a tool for creating a balance of power that makes conflict less likely.”

While US officials invoke the Iranian threat to justify arms sales to countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the reality is, these weapons are mostly used to kill civilians in Yemen and end up in the hands of groups like al-Qaeda.

Besides Yemen, US arms have fueled wars in countries all across the region, in Libya, Egypt, Iraq, and Syria, to name a few. The study found that US arms often end up in the hands of opposing sides in these conflicts.

4 Military Veterans Just Released the Most Tactical Campaign Ad of All Time

Farms in Yemen have been hit at least 918 times by airstrikes and artillery shelling in less than three years. Since January 2018, the Civilian Impact Monitoring Project has recorded 348 airstrikes on farms in Yemen, and 570 cases of shelling affecting farms.

The report was released Thursday by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). The organization interviewed Yemeni civilians on the ground who lived through these attacks. Several farmers shared accounts with the NRC about fleeing their lands because airstrikes destroyed their farms or ground fighting reached the area.

“The violence that has engulfed more than 900 farms is part of a larger pattern where the senseless war is shattering Yemen’s ability to feed itself. Fishing boats have been sunk, markets decimated, and flour mills destroyed. This cuts off lifelines for millions,” Jan Egeland, the NRC secretary-general, said.

The report does not attribute blame for the strikes. While the Houthis could be responsible for some of the shelling, only one side has real airpower and has a history of targeting civilian infrastructure; the US-backed Saudi-led coalition.

Since the coalition intervened in Yemen to reinstate President Hadi in 2015, it has waged a brutal air campaign. Airstrikes have hit farms, fishing boats, market places, hospitals, schools, and water treatment facilities. On top of the bombing campaign, there is also a blockade on the country with strict import controls.

These siege tactics have caused severe food shortages, with more than half of the population reliant on aid. The targeting of sewage and water infrastructure has also caused the largest cholera outbreak in modern history. The country is also struggling to contain coronavirus since the population lacks access to clean water and basic healthcare.

With so much of the population reliant on aid, the cutbacks caused by the economic ramifications of coronavirus and worldwide shutdowns could lead to a devastating famine. The UN had to substantially cut healthcare aid and food distribution in Yemen this year and is pleading with the world to give more money.

The UN says if they cannot raise enough funds, a famine will hit. While the UN has not officially declared a famine in Yemen, they do call the situation the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, and people have been starving to death in the country for years. In 2018, Save the Children published a report that said as many as 85,000 children under the age of five died of starvation in Yemen between April 2015 and October 2018.

Disinformation, QAnon efforts targeting Latino voters ramp up ahead of presidential election

Disinformation targeting Latino communities is ramping up ahead of Election Day, when the demographic is expected to play a crucial role in key battleground states.

Advocacy groups and election security experts alike say material is circulating on social media platforms and online messaging apps that pushes false conspiracies that echo larger disinformation campaigns in English.

The misinformation efforts, some of which reflect the QAnon conspiracy theory, are especially critical in Florida, a crucial swing state where polls show Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is running behind Hillary Clinton’s 2016 support among Latino voters.

Advocates said the misinformation could dissuade Latino voters, who have historically low levels of voter participation, from voting in this year’s election.

One example, according to NALEO, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that facilitates Latino participation in American politics, is a Facebook page “Cubanos por el Mundo” that makes false claims that the Cuban government is planning a caravan at the southern border to create a migratory crisis before the election to sabotage President Trump.

A video posted by the Facebook page pushing the claim this week was shared more than 334 times in one day.

Other disinformation efforts have spread across Facebook, Twitter and more recently WhatsApp, the widely popular messaging app among Latino immigrants, with the intent to misinform Latino communities about election security. Much of the disinformation is coming from “one-off groups” that are hard to trace and can spread rapidly through forwarded WhatsApp messages, said Lizette Escobedo, civic engagement director at NALEO.

Online disinformation also has spread into more mainstream Spanish news media in Florida.

Meet the leading Jewish political donors in this US election cycle

Tom Steyer tops list of all donors with over $80 million in combined donations through September 8; Adelsons rank No. 5, Soros No. 24

JTA — George Soros may draw some of the most vociferous criticism, but he’s hardly the biggest political donor in this cash-heavy election cycle — Democrat or Republican.

In fact, Soros is 24th on the largest givers in this cycle, and Jewish donors on both the right and left populate the list above him.

That’s according to Open Secrets, which provides the top 100 individuals or married couples donating to the 2020 campaign. Among the top 25 on the list, 15 are Jewish or of Jewish origin.

They include Tom Steyer, No. 1 on the list, and Donald Sussman, who have joined Soros in the litany of Democratic donors criticized by Republicans. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson are No. 5 — their money goes exclusively to Republican candidates. Plus there’s a host of Jewish donors who have drawn little public attention despite giving in the multimillions.

The Open Secrets rundown is up to date as of September 8. With the final weeks of the campaign seeing an accelerated fundraising push, the rankings are likely to change.

Here’s what you need to know about the big-spending Jewish donors seeking to influence this year’s high-stakes elections, especially those whose giving has made the most waves.

1. Tom Steyer

Amount given so far: $54 million to Democrats

Steyer tops the list by far. The hedge funder, who was among the candidates seeking the Democratic presidential nomination, has donated over $54 million to Democrats — and, intriguingly, $35 to Republicans.

Lest you think Steyer is leading this cycle because of his own campaign, he has resided in the top three since the 2014 congressional cycle, and most of his money has gone to outside groups backing an array of Democratic candidates. (Steyer has endorsed Joe Biden and is fundraising for him.)

Steyer, whose father was Jewish and who identifies as ethnically Jewish, is a practicing Episcopalian, although in his youth he practiced Judaism and included a rabbi in his wedding.

1. Stephen and Christine Schwarzman

Amount given so far: $28.4 million to Republicans and $8,400 to Democrats

Stephen Schwarzman is CEO of Blackstone, an investment management firm, and served on one of Trump’s council of business advisers until they all shut down after the deadly neo-Nazi march in Charlottesville in 2017. Trump equivocated in condemning the rioters, and businesses came under pressure to cut ties with the administration.

Schwarzman told Reuters he got messages calling him a Nazi.

“It was pretty clear that the country itself felt like it was going out of control,” he said at the time. “We decided there was too much pressure for too many people all running public companies.”

His first major donation to Israel was in 2018, when he gave the National Library $10 million.

Marcus is all in for Trump. His pro-Trump posture — he gave Trump’s campaign $7 million in 2016 — has led to boycotts of Home Depot, although he retired as the hardware chain’s chairman in 2002. The New York Times, reporting this week that the Republicans were trying to get the Green Party on the presidential ballot to siphon votes from Biden, revealed that Marcus funded an identical campaign in 2016. It may have worked: The votes for the Greens were greater than the margin of Trump’s key victories in Wisconsin and Michigan.

Marcus also backs congressional candidate Laura Loomer in South Florida. Mainstream GOP Jews have endeavored to ignore Loomer, who is Jewish and a self-declared Islamophobe. Amount given so far: $8.8 million to Republicans

Singer, 76, is a hedge funder who eased the Republican Party (somewhat) into accepting rights for LGBTQ people (his son is gay). He has a tenuous relationship with Trump and was the initial funder of the opposition research that led to revelations about Russian attempts to infiltrate the Trump campaign. But by last year he was on the Trump train, saying Democrats posed a socialist threat to the United States.

Soros, 90, is a Hungarian-born Holocaust survivor who made his billions as a hedge funder. He launched his philanthropy in the 1970s, advancing democratic movements in South Africa and then as the Soviet empire began to crumble, in Central and Eastern Europe. His emphasis was the introduction of free markets, which first earned him praise from conservatives.

That dissipated once he turned his attention to liberal and Democratic politics, and especially when he spoke out against the Iraq War launched by President George W. Bush in 2003. He spent a record $27 million in 2004 to oust Bush, including millions on MoveOn, the group that along with the Howard Dean campaign set the standard that year for online fundraising.

State/DOJ Seek to Stop to Clinton Aide from Testifying

Judicial Watch to Appeal Decision on Clinton Email Testimony

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed an opposition to the U.S. Department of State’s motion to overturn a court order authorizing additional discovery in the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that led directly to the 2015 disclosure of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton personal email system.

The State Department’s motion seeks to avoid the depositions of Clinton’s former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills as well as current and former State Department Information Technology Officials Brett Gittleson and Yvette Jacks.

Judicial Watch argues in its opposition that the State Department is wrong to try to expand an August 2020 appellate court ruling blocking Clinton’s deposition. The ruling did not bar the deposition of Mills or any other witness. Judicial Watch intends to seek further review of the ruling.

The lawsuit seeks records about the Obama administration’s public statements regarding the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. In addition to exposing the Clinton email system, the lawsuit uncovered “talking points” drafted by Obama administration officials demonstrating that then-National Security Advisor Susan Rice’s statements on the eve of the 2012 presidential election were false (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01242)).

On December 6, 2018, U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth ordered that Rice and senior Obama State Department officials, lawyers and Clinton aides be deposed or answer written questions under oath in the lawsuit. Judge Lamberth called Clinton’s email system “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.”

In May 2019, Rice admitted under oath that she emailed Clinton on Clinton’s personal email account and “in rare instances” received emails related to U.S. government business on her own personal email account. Rice claimed she “took steps” to ensure that official emails were “also on her government email account” but did not identify those steps. Rice’s 2019 sworn answers are available here.

On March 2, 2020, Judge Lamberth ordered Judicial Watch to depose Clinton and Mills, under oath, regarding Clinton’s email system and the existence of records about the Benghazi attack. Clinton and Mills filed an emergency mandamus appeal to avoid testifying.

Two Massachusetts doctors charged with criminal neglect for 76 coronavirus deaths at veterans' home

The former heads of the state-run Holyoke Soldiers' Home were indicted on charges of abuse and neglect

The Massachusetts Attorney General has indicted two doctors on charges of criminal neglect in connection to the deaths of at least 76 veterans' home residents who died of the novel coronavirus.

Bennett Walsh, 50, and David Clinton, 71, were indicted by a state grand jury on Thursday in connection to their work at the Holyoke Soldiers' home in Massachusetts. Each man was indicted on five counts, specifically for charges including "wantonly or recklessly" permitting or causing bodily harm and mistreatment of an older or disabled individual.

State investigators zeroed in on the events of March 27, when staff at the facility combined two dementia wards containing patients with and without the novel illness. The facility was short staffed and made the decision to combine units containing 42 residents – some of whom had the virus and some of whom did not.

Residents were packed by the half-dozen into rooms that typically only held four veterans, allowing the highly contagious disease to spread at an alarming rate.

The office of the Attorney General has said that Walsh and Clinton will be arraigned in Hampden County Superior Court at a later date.

Donald Trump Gives Seniors $200 Medicare Cards While Joe Biden Does ‘Debate Prep’

Thanks to Donald Trump's leadership skills, millions of American seniors will soon receive $200 cards in the mail to help them cover the cost of prescription drugs.

The president announced the initiative on Thursday at an event with health professionals in North Carolina. "Under my plan, 33 million Medicare beneficiaries will soon receive a card in the mail containing $200 that they can use to help pay for prescription drugs," Trump told the cheering heroes. "Joe Biden won't be doing this."

Unlike Trump, the former vice president has neither a plan nor the authority to provide financial relief to seniors before the end of the year. Biden, who has been largely absent from the campaign trail of late, recently told reporters he intended to focus "really heavily" on preparing for next week's presidential debate in Cleveland.

It is merely the latest example of the so-called "leadership gap" between President Trump and his Democratic rival. Earlier this month, Trump forged a historic peace agreement between Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. He also helped bring back Big Ten college football, and presided over the celebrated "Cactus Jack" collaboration between McDonald's and hip-hop artist Travis Scott.

Biden, by comparison, was engaged in activities that aren't typically associated with leadership. He committed an embarrassing gaffe by reading aloud the phrase "end of quote" during a teleprompter-assisted speech, spoke incoherently about what it would be like to work "in the second-floor ladies department," and attempted to woo Hispanic voters by playing the 2017 smash hit "Despacito" on his phone. Biden was also attacked by bugs during an "environmental justice" event.

Biden is going to need all the preparation he can get ahead of next week's debate. He has consistently struggled to form coherent sentences on the campaign trail, and has displayed an inability to control his emotions when challenged. His failed attempt to recite the pledge of allegiance, for example, does not bode well. "I pledge allegiance to the United States of America, one nation, indivisible, under God, for real," Biden said during a campaign speech in Wisconsin.

Some Public Companies Took Out PPP Loans Then Paid Dividends And Bought Back Shares

PPP loans were designed to help small companies pay employees during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic

CRH Medical Corp., which received a $2.9 million PPP, later made five acquisitions and bought back shares

Advocacy groups are calling for greater transparency in these loans

Some publicly traded companies that received loans under the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act, or PPP, subsequently bought shares of their own stock and paid out dividends, raising questions about whether such loans were even needed by some firms.

The Washington Post reported that while the practice is not prohibited, the taxpayer-backed, low-interest forgivable small business loans were mostly designed to pay employees during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the rules of the Small Business Administration, PPP loans could also be used to pay mortgage interest, leases or utility bills. (PPP rules did not specifically ban loan recipients from paying investors as long as they were paid from separate funds).

Still, some large financially viable companies were able to access the loans that were meant for small firms with less than 500 workers.

For example CRH Medical Corp. (CRHM), a Canadian-based medical supply company with American subsidiaries, received a $2.9 million PPP loan in mid-April to support 124 U.S. employees.

“Given the economic uncertainties that CRH and the healthcare industry were facing in March and April when CRH’s loan was applied for and used, these funds were necessary to support the ongoing operations of CRH, to retain or rehire its employees as contemplated by the loan program,” a company spokesman told the Post.

However, since that time CRH has made five acquisitions and bought back almost $230,000 of its shares in the second quarter.

The CRH spokesman said the stock repurchases were a previously planned automatic stock buyback that had been postponed in the early weeks of the pandemic.

Another company, RCI Hospitality Holdings (RICK), which operates nightclubs and adult entertainment centers, received a $4.2 million PPP loan. But it has since paid out $273,000 in dividends.

“RCI believes that it has followed all rules and guidance provided by the Small Business Administration regarding the Paycheck Protection Program,” said Steve Anreder, an RCI spokesman. “Of RCI’s businesses, only subsidiaries in its restaurant division, shared service entity and lounge received loans under the Paycheck Protection Program, and all such funds were used toward employee payroll and other eligible expenses in those entities.”

Some lawyers and advocacy groups complain that companies that can afford to shell out millions of dollars in dividends and stock buybacks should not have been allowed access to any PPP loans in the first place.
