IMO -

if Trump names Barrett it will be the biggest blunder of his life

I consider her very unpredictable

And the big campaign to appoint her

reminds me of how CLINTON got to be Sec of State

Clinton made it very difficult for Obama NOT to appoint her.

Same thing with Barrett.

And it is a red flag to me in many ways.

Two of her children were adopted from Haiti.

One of them after the 2010 earthquake (I believe anyway, maybe both)

judiciary hearing for amy coney barrett and joan larsen

watching this hearing was very enlightening

Amy Barrett brought an entire support network with her

lawyers?? members of her religious community??

her supervisory personal advisor ?

and I did not like her "know it all" demeanor or her squeaky voice

she did not answer directly the questions

but rather very skillfully skirted the issues with legalisms

Joan Larsen, as it happens, on the Michigan Supreme Court

administered a veterans second chance program

where veterans were put on probation and given a mentor

who helped them adjust back into society and other assistance

Larsen also worked with judges to match them to student assistants

She knows a lot of people and seeks outside opinions

in order to hash through her knowledge of a case

She's very amiable and sociable and smart.

Nothing about her put you off.

She was a very refined but very human academic.
