The answer to the "islamist" question is yes.
The claimed, written history, "First Council of Nicaea" which essentially created the Catholic church did in fact include Muslim/Islam leaders.
The founders claimed they felt God would hold them personable accountable if they didn't use their standing to do something to bring everyone to Christ.
The idea, agree/disagree it's not relevant, was the creation of a singular, universal church, most forget that's what "Catholic" means.
That's the reason the mass includes "sacrifices", "drinking blood", "burning things" etc… it was a religion to draw in all religions w/the hope of bringing them to Christ.
Yes, per the Church's own history Mary being the virgin mother of Christ was crafted to draw in certain religious archetypes. They don't actually hide this which is why I scratch my head that they later made it Dogma?
Peter was chosen to be the first to lead this church since Christ himself left him in charge and it lent it's legitimacy.
I can't sauce this because I don't have the book. All I remember is it was red, limited edition and there was one for the history of the Nicaea council and another for the Trent. My mother passed, I joined the service and have only been home a handful of times in 20 years.
