I have never really understood the concern over AI. Sure - I get "weird talking box that is our own created alien of mystery" factor.
But the Google/FB/etc algos aren't AI… And I can't help but think that an AI would be more trustworthy with that kind of massive collection of computing power than a secret society would be. What bothers me is that the weapon -is- mindless as it is positioned as a psychological superweapon to be used by psychopaths.
But… I slide a bit more.
