Don't underestimate the perceived intelligence of good software. Neural nets and machine learning can do stuff that we can't even really comprehend, which could end up being extremely useful or harmful depending on how we choose to use it.

Why not have AI as another tool to make informed decisions? Right now it's basically just data processing where humans have to make the decisions on it's application. No where near autonomous or sentient AI at the cutting edge. You think we aren't using AI right now? You think they aren't using it?
