David Margolis, who died in July at the age of 76 after 51 years at DOJ, was the quick-witted and even-keeled Yoda of Justice—a trusted fixer who helped resolve the agency’s stickiest, most delicate situations, among them ethical and disciplinary problems involving DOJ employees. Schools has essentially inherited that job, as well as all the grand expectations that come with it.
