By law SCOTUS confirmation hearings are not required….why is POTUS not taking it straight to a Senate vote ???????

My experience is its best to stay out of court, lawyers and politicians…no good thing comes from that mixture….we have the votes now so lets do it….however I think what there looking at is recapturing the House and keeping the Senate in state and local elections…..may be a necessary evil for the good of the Republic…..
IMAGINE what WE THE PEOPLE could accomplish all branches working together in a good faith effort…..
