Don't know why but "mercer" came to mind twice recently. The word "mercer" can mean a dealer in textiles, especially silks. It's more of a British than American term, however. But I recalled it after the dialog about Trump's tie.

 

Also reminded that there is a Mercer Island in Washington State.
