Senator John Kennedy (R- LA) said on Fox News Sunday Democrats better not turn the upcoming Supreme Court fight into another “freakshow.”

He told Brit Hume they’d better not “bring back Michael Avenatti and all that other stuff — let us focus on the nominee.”

He reiterated, “If my Democratic friends want to turn it into an intergalactic freak show and bring back the protesters with the genitalia-shaped Headgear, I can’t stop ’em. I just hope they won’t.”

“I’m going to do my job. I think she’s a good nominee, but my job is to advise and consent. I’m going to probe her intellect, her temperament, her judicial philosophy, her character. I want to be assured that she doesn’t think justices are politicians in robes,” Kennedy said.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Florida authorities say a woman stabbed her boyfriend on an interstate highway, and then was killed when she ran in front of a tractor trailer truck early Saturday.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office reports the 30-year-old woman and her 27-year-old boyfriend got into an argument and pulled over along Interstate 4.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the woman broke a bottle and struck the man as they were on the shoulder of the highway.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the woman then ran into the path of a truck driven by a 50-year-old Dundee man.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The U.S. Marshals Service announced the arrests of 140 “violent fugitives” during a gang enforcement sting in Phoenix, Arizona.

Between Aug. 10 and Sept. 17, the service said the 140 individuals were arrested in connection to gang violence as part of “Operation Snake Eyes.”

“One issue that most people will agree with while debating police issues, is that those who intentionally and indiscriminately cause harm, murder, and terrorize citizens should be a priority of the criminal justice system. Operation Snake Eyes focused on gang members, violent criminals, and communities with a high degree of violent gun related crimes,” said U.S. Marshal David Gonzales.

“This evidence-based approach to violent crime has shown to be an effective strategy in reducing crime and helping in make our communities safer,” he added.

Officials said that 51 people who were arrested are gang members, and meanwhile, some 130 firearms were confiscated as well as $145,000 in cash and 3,200 fake fentanyl pills.
