Usually the list of posts stops dead at 751, as we all know.
Sometimes it will end up over 751, like at 755 or 760 or something. That is not unusual and I have always thought it was because a bunch of posts went up simultaneously right at the very end.
Rarely, there will be a thread with a much larger number. Who knows why, but it can happen. There was one at our last gathering place with 781.
Most likely Codemonkey could explain this.
