Baker argued that having everything delegated to specific threads makes things neater and better organized in the general, allows for updates without overwhelming the dough with autistic shit nobody reads, and lets content anons update their material without famefagging/relying on a baker, who might miss something/ignore something out of personal preference.

If the mods/BO could sticky those news, archive, and resource threads, they'd get put to use as the news thread was in /cbts/. At least one anon was keeping the archived threads up to date yesterday, so that's a start.
