You may remember that when Trump fired the troubled Flynn (according to FBI Anon, Trump's choice for vice president), the justification was that Pence had said that Flynn had lied to Pence. The clever thing about this is that if Trump ends up removing Pence for being a villain in the vein of many movie vice presidents, Trump can go straight ahead and install Flynn in Pence's place on the basis that Pence had been the one to lie, wanting to get rid of the patriot who was a danger to Pence's schemes.
