A vehicle plowed through a crowd of Trump supporters in Yorba Linda, California, on Saturday.

The incident reportedly took place in a parking lot.

Violence broke out as supporters of President Donald Trump staged a counter protest against a Black Lives Matter demonstration organized by the Urban Organizers Coalition.

The pro-Trump crowd reportedly confronted the militant leftists while chanting “USA,” leading to multiple fights prior to the car driving through the crowd of patriots.

“At least two people were injured, including a man who was bloodied. Ambulances were summoned. People chased the car, which eventually stopped and was surrounded by sheriff’s deputies,” the OC Register reports.

The woman who drove through the crowd of Trump supporters was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

According to the Orange County Journal the 40-year-old driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. At least two people had major injuries and were transported to a hospital but were expected to survive.

Senator Johnson went on to say:

When we finally do get these classified sections redacted, or unredacted, when they become declassified, you look at what information you have and you have to ask yourself the question, ‘What national security issue was at stake here?’ ‘Why was this ever redacted?’

The answer is almost always, because it embarrass the agency or it embarrasses a powerful person. That is not the reason to classify information. It’s certainly not the reason to keep the truth from the American public.

NYC Principals' Unions Issue Vote Of No Confidence In Mayor De Blasio, Urge State To Take Over Schools

Days after New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio warned about emerging outbreaks in Queens and Brooklyn, advising the city that they demanded "urgent attention", the city's principal's unions have joined together in calling for a vote of no confidence in the bumbling mayor, and for Hizzoner to cede control of the city's schools to the state (aka, to de Blasio's archrival, Gov. Cuomo).

Leaders of the city's principals unions unanimously passed the vote of no confidence in the mayor. School administrators are calling for the mayor to give up control until the pandemic has been brought to heel via a vaccine, something that's not expected until next year.

The votes comes just days before NYC schools are set to return to classrooms on a part-time basis.

Groups of restaurant owners are suing the city for threatening their livelihoods with its enduring ban on indoor dining, which is expected to continue possibly through the winter. It's been reported that 90% of NYC restaurants didn't pay rent last month.

Anger against de Blasio has been mounting since the mayor allegedly ignored the advice of a group of teachers and administrators who issued recommendations to city hall about how the crisis should be handled.

Among the major issues: the need to hire more teachers to compensate for a shortage for the upcoming school year. When Mayor de Blasio claimed during a press briefing earlier this month that the staffing shortage had only just become clear, many union leaders took it as a slap in the face.

A rebellion against the mayor's office is also motivated in part by the fact that the administrator's have political leverage in Albany. After all, the city's schools have operated under what is called "mayoral control" since 2002, when Mayor Bloomberg convinced state lawmakers to abolish the 32 elected community boards that ran the city's schools, resulting in a series of patronage-mill fiefdoms. There was also a central Board of Education with two members who were picked by the mayor and five by borough presidents. Unions, or at least their leaders, have some incentive for trying to revert back to the old system, under which they had more power since the mayor didn't have as much leverage. Most other cities have school boards that control decisions made by the chancellor. NYC doesn't.

"There are no easy answers…but the failure here has been a failure to anticipate the obvious," one former NYC principal told WSJ.

Former Deutsche Bank Traders Convicted Of Fraud For Spoofing Precious Metals Between 2008 And 2013

Former Deutsche Bank AG traders Cedric Chanu and James Vorley were convicted for manipulating gold and silver prices on Friday after three days of deliberation by a Federal jury in Chicago.

The two were accused of making fake trade orders between 2008 and 2013 to influence the prices of precious metals. Their trial was a week long and was the first of its kind since 2010, according to Bloomberg.

The convictions come as the result of a crackdown on "spoofing", placing orders with no intention of executing them, in order to move the price of the underlying product. Spoofing works by fooling the market into thinking there are more bids or offers than are legitimately there. It has been illegal since 2010's Dodd-Frank act.

Chanu and Vorley were said to have "weaponized" this tactic to mislead other traders, according to prosecutor Brian Young. The traders knew what they were doing, the prosecution argued, with Vorley even writing in a message to Chanu at one point: “This spoofing is annoying me. It’s illegal for a start.”

A co-worker at Deutsche Bank acted as witness during the trial and told the jury that Chanu and Vorley taught him how to manipulate prices by spoofing. The defendants didn't call any witnesses but instead raised the issue of how difficult it was to try and prove criminal intent for "spoofing" in competitive global markets.

“If you fake a pass and run the ball, that’s competition, not fraud,” Vorley's lawyer said.

Chanu was convicted on seven counts of fraud and Vorley was convicted of three counts. They were found not guilty on charges of conspiracy. The government has said they are going to seek about four or five years of jail for each person. Vorley said he will appeal and that he was trading "well within the law".

Vorley's lawyer said: “It was a compromise verdict by a jury that three times declared it was deadlocked, deliberating in the face of a Covid scare. The record is clear there was no fraud. The compromise conviction will not stand.”

Chanu's attorney said he was “gratified that the jury unanimously acquitted Cedric on the conspiracy and other charges, and we intend to continue the fight as to the remaining charges.”

Azerbaijan follows Armenia in announcing martial law after intensive border clashes

Azerbaijan has introduced martial law and curfews in several regions of the country following an escalation of border hostilities with the Armenia-backed disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.

The order, which will come into force from Monday, mirrors Yerevan’s reaction to the crisis. The government of Armenia declared martial law and ordered the mobilization of reserve troops earlier on Sunday. Authorities in the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic did the same.

Tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia spiked this weekend after the Azeri side launched a military operation against the Nagorno-Karabakh forces. Baku said it was acting in response to artillery shelling, but Yerevan said the operation was planned in advance and launched under false pretenses, in violation of a ceasefire.

Leaders of both countries addressed their respective peoples, rallying public support. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev said national troops were “fighting on the Azeri land and crushing the enemy” for the righteous cause of restoring their country’s territorial integrity.

Meanwhile, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his country was prepared to fend off the attack against Nagorno-Karabakh, possibly fighting against Azerbaijan on its own territory. “Our cause is just and the criminal encroachment will be met with a worthy counter strike,” he pledged.

Sunday’s escalation is the latest development in a protracted conflict between the two neighbors over Nagorno-Karabakh, a predominantly Armenian region of Azerbaijan that split from Baku three decades ago. Armenia supports the self-proclaimed republic but never actually recognized it as a sovereign state. After the latest crisis, this may change, the Armenian prime minister warned.

Surge In Chinese Industrial Profits Continues, But Is This Just More "Fake Data"

Overnight, China's National Bureau of Statistics reported that profits at Chinese industrial enterprises remained surprisingly resilient in August, rising 19.1% from a year ago if moderating fractionally from the 19.6% y/y surge in July, as Beijing telegraphs that China's factories maintained momentum following the pandemic shutdown. Profit margin for industrial companies increased further in August compared to one year ago. By industry, data suggest upstream industries' profit growth outperformed downstream industries in August.

Here are the main highlights:

China's industrial profits grew 19.1% year-over-year in August, moderating marginally from 19.6% in July. In month-over-month non-annualized terms, profits fell 1.6% in August.

On a year-over-year basis, upstream industries' profit growth outperformed downstream industries in August. Downstream industries' profit growth moderated to +16.9% yoy in August (vs. 28.7% yoy in July) while upstream industries' profit growth accelerated to +31.0% yoy (vs. +4.6% yoy in July). By major industry, profit of general equipment manufacturing rose 37% yoy (vs. 26% yoy in July) and electrical machinery and equipment rose 13.3% yoy (vs. 8.1% yoy in July). Automobile manufacturing profits remained relatively solid and rose 55.9% yoy in August, though moderating from 102.5% yoy in July. The decline in profits of mining sectors narrowed meaningfully to -11.9% yoy in August from -40.6% yoy in July, on the back of rising commodity prices and demand recovery.

In a statement accompanying the data release, the NBS said that the increase was due to factors including the continued recovery of production and demand as well as falling costs and fees for companies. The bureau also pointed to a recovery in mining industry profitability and rapid growth in profits for equipment manufacturers.

However, as usual when it comes to Chinese 'data', there were several key question marks in the report - which was quite flattering for Xi Jinping in the ongoing cold war with Trump - that put the validity of the data in question:

For one, industrial revenue growth remains stagnant, and while total industrial revenue growth accelerated to +4.9% yoy, from +3.3% yoy in July, it was nowhere near the surge in profits. In the absence of top-line growth, the continued surge in profits was entirely contingent on rising margins (total profits divided by revenues), which expanded to 6.9% in August (vs. 6.1% in the same period last year), contributing to the solid growth in total profits. How China is managing such dramatic profit margin expansion without mass layoffs, and in a time when supply chain transformations should be crushing margins remains a great unknown.

California Gov. Newsom signs law allowing trans inmates to be locked up with men or women based on their gender identity

California Governor Gavin Newsom has approved legislation that will give prisoners the ability to decide where they will be incarcerated based on whether they ‘identify’ as male or female.

The newly-ratified bill will instruct the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to house inmates based on their own gender identity, rather than their sex assigned at birth.

Prison officials will be required to ask inmates during initial processing if they identify as transgender, nonbinary or intersex. Prisoners can then request to be housed in a male or female facility based on their ‘identity’. The CDCR cannot turn down these requests solely because of an inmate’s anatomy. However, the new guidelines are only applicable if the state does not have “management or security concerns” with the prisoner in question. The state must provide a written explanation in instances where placement requests are denied, and must also allow the prisoner in question to appeal the decision.

In a statement, Newsom said that the new law and several other bills related to LGBTQ+ issues were part of California’s “march toward equality” and would help “uphold the dignity” of all state residents.

Last year, Massachusetts prison officials transferred a prisoner from a men’s prison to a women’s prison after the state adopted a law aimed at protecting transgender inmates’ rights. The case was described as the first instance in the United States where an inmate was placed in a facility based on his or her own gender identity.

New Study Shows Honeybee Venom “Rapidly Destroys” Cancer Cells

Honeybees have long provided humans with vital tools for our survival like the pollination of fruits and vegetables as well as honey which has medicinal and antibiotic properties. A new study published this month in the journal npj Precision Oncology reveals that the role of honeybees in helping humans may have just taken a massive live-saving step forward.

The results of the study, titled Honeybee venom and melittin suppress growth factor receptor activation in HER2-enriched and triple-negative breast cancer, showed that honeybee venom rapidly destroyed triple-negative breast cancer and HER2-enriched breast cancer cells.

Lead researcher, Dr Ciara Duffy from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and The University of Western Australia, tested the effect of the honeybee venom on the clinical subtypes of breast cancer and their results were promising, to say the least.

In an interview with Science Daily, Duffy said the aim of the research was to investigate the anti-cancer properties of honeybee venom, and a component compound, melittin, on different types of breast cancer cells.

“No-one had previously compared the effects of honeybee venom or melittin across all of the different subtypes of breast cancer and normal cells.

“We tested honeybee venom on normal breast cells, and cells from the clinical subtypes of breast cancer: hormone receptor positive, HER2-enriched, and triple-negative breast cancer.

“We tested a very small, positively charged peptide in honeybee venom called melittin, which we could reproduce synthetically, and found that the synthetic product mirrored the majority of the anti-cancer effects of honeybee venom,” Dr Duffy said.

“We found both honeybee venom and melittin significantly, selectively and rapidly reduced the viability of triple-negative breast cancer and HER2-enriched breast cancer cells.

“The venom was extremely potent,” Dr Duffy said.

Incredibly, the specific concentration of honeybee venom can induce 100% cancer cell death, all the while leaving regular cells mostly unharmed.

Researchers demonstrated that the melittin works in two ways: Within an hour of administration, it effectively punches holes in the cell membrane, killing the cell. In addition however, within 20 minutes of administration, it rapidly disrupts the cancer signaling pathways, shutting down the chemical messages needed for cancer cell growth and reproduction.

Blumenthal on Packing SCOTUS: ‘Nothing Is off the Table’

Host Tiffany Cross asked, “On November 10, that’s when the ACA will be heard before the court. Seven million will be impacted should they strike it down. Given the dire situation, we are in, the old playbook before 2016 is thrown out. So based on where we are today, where do you stand on if Joe Biden is successful in November and bests Donald Trump, what’s your position on expanding the court?”

Blumenthal said, “That’s a really good question. And all the more reason that we need to focus on these next days and weeks, trying to defeat this nominee. I’m going to be fighting like hell to defeat her using every possible tool. Limited as those tools are. We can’t force the Republicans to keep their word any more than we with force them to care about their constituents’ health care. Any eventual option after the election depends on winning the election. Without Joe Biden as president or a Democratic Senate, none of these options is achievable.”

Cross said, “Yeah, I hear you. I think because the base is so frustrated with the process, people are looking to if we win this is what we’ll do. So yes, would you support expanding the Supreme Court?”

Blumenthal said, “What I’m prepared to say is we must win this election for Joe Biden and for the Senate to make them both Democratic and then nothing is off the table.”

Watch Cops Storm, Forcibly Shut Down Peaceful Anti-Lockdown Protest in London

London Police forcibly shut down an anti-lockdown protest in Trafalgar Square on Saturday, using their batons to beat protesters as they tried to disperse the demonstration, which the police claimed violated the UK’s coronavirus regulations.

After two hours of peaceable assembly in which the protesters listened to speeches against the lockdown and chanted for freedom, police stormed into the crowds, pushing people to the ground and ultimately hitting some protesters over the head with batons.

In a Breitbart London exclusive video, women and small children were seen fleeing from the violent clashes that ensued. Women were heard screaming, and men were seen with blood pouring from their heads.

Protesters were heard shouting, “Stop hitting people,” and telling the officers that they have blood on their hands.

A woman who was present as the police stormed the protest told Breitbart London: “My God, they just came through like a cohort of centuries. It was awful, and my friend saw them just knock a man to the ground, and he just went flying.”

“It was so shocking,” she said, “I’m quite saddened that our police behaved like that.”

The woman said that she was conflicted as she comes from a police family. She said that she was “absolutely disgusted by how they behaved” but noted that she believes many of the officers are just following orders and are concerned about keeping their jobs.

She lamented that she feels the United Kingdom is now similar to living under communist rule in East Germany, saying that the police tactics were “like the Stasi”.

She concluded by saying that the anti-lockdown protesters are not the enemy of the police, saying: “We aren’t the ones that want you defunded, that’s not us. We aren’t the ones that clap when one of you gets hurt or worse.”

140 Arrested in U.S. Marshals’ Arizona Fugitive Gang Enforcement Op

Deputy U.S. Marshals from the District of Arizona arrested 140 people in August and September during a violent gang enforcement operation. Deputies executed “Operation Snake Eyes” in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

U.S. Marshals Service deputies carried out a six-week operation beginning on August 10 in the Phoenix area to target violent fugitives and gang members, AZFamily.com reported. Operation Snake Eyes (OSE) led to the arrest of 140 fugitives, including 51 gang members, and the seizure of a large number of firearms and cash.

“One issue that most people will agree with while debating police issues, is that those who intentionally and indiscriminately cause harm, murder, and terrorize citizens should be a priority of the criminal justice system. Operation Snake Eyes focused on gang members, violent criminals, and communities with a high degree of violent gun-related crimes,” United States Marshal for the District of Arizona David Gonzales said in a written statement. “This evidence-based approach to violent crime has shown to be an effective strategy in reducing crime and helping in make our communities safer.”

Hungarian Police Discover 16 Tunnels Used by Migrants to Cross Border

Hungarian police say they have discovered at least 16 tunnels used by people traffickers to smuggle migrants across the border from neighbouring Serbia.

The small tunnels, which are around a hundred feet long, are located near the village of Csikeria and the town of Morahalom. The discovery of the tunnels is said to have occurred after police managed to capture 26 illegal migrants from Afghanistan and Syria near the border.

According to a report from Italian newspaper Il Giornale, the people traffickers charge migrants as much as €3,500 to get into Hungary, and therefore into the European Union.

The tunnels have become the favoured way of sneaking into Hungary as the nation’s border fence has drastically reduced the number of migrants entering the country since it was built in late 2015.

Csongràd County police spokeswoman Szilvia Szab told local media that the tunnels were hidden under brush and that new activity showed that smugglers were ramping up their business after the Wuhan coronavirus lockdowns.

In August, Hungarian authorities first alerted the public over the development of tunnels along the border. They said that 2020 has seen at least 18,000 migrants attempt to cross into the country, the highest number since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015.

Hungary saw large numbers of migrants in January gather at the border at Röszke and demand to be let in. The Hungarian government later released footage of a group of between 50 and 70 migrants attempting to storm the border crossing.

While Hungary has managed to reduce significantly illegal immigration over the past several years, it was dealt a blow in July when the European Court of Justice ruled that Hungary could not keep migrants in so-called transit zones on the border.

UK Schools Told to Teach ‘Cancel Culture’ Is Harmful, Not to Promote ‘Victim Narratives’

British schools must “explain the harm caused by ‘cancel culture'” and avoid promoting “victim narratives”, new government guidance has said.

Mandatory relationships and sex education (RSE) comes into force in British schools this month. Teacher training materials published by the Department of Education for teaching “respectful relationships” asserts that educators should teach pupils the “importance of freedom of speech” and “freedom of association to a tolerant and free society”.

“Teach that censorship and ‘no-platforming’ are harmful and damaging,” the guidance says. It adds that teachers should “explain that seeking to get people’ cancelled’ (e.g. having them removed from their position of authority or job) simply because you disagree with them, is a form of bullying and is not acceptable”.

The new legal teaching requirements also mandate that lessons are ‘LGBT-inclusive’, requiring schools to embed “LGBT content”, including “LGBT-relevant knowledge and examples”, throughout the curriculum, rather than confining it to a one-off lesson.

However, following controversy over NGO-produced SRE teaching materials, which reportedly promoted anal sex and encouraged classroom discussion of explicit sexual acts, the latest guidance cautions teachers against exposing children to “over-sexualised content” or research on topics that could lead to the discovery of pornographic material.

Transgender activists were angered by the Department for Education advice acknowledging that “topics involving gender and biological sex can be complex and sensitive matters to navigate”.

The guidance states that schools “should not reinforce harmful stereotypes, for instance, by suggesting that children might be a different gender based on their personality and interests or the clothes they prefer to wear”. It adds that “teachers should not suggest to a child that their non-compliance with gender stereotypes means that either their personality or their body is wrong and in need of changing”.

Orbán Rejects Migration Pact, Says EU Wants to ‘Manage Migration’ Not Stop It

The central European Visegrád group has criticised the European Commission’s planned reform of the EU’s asylum policy, which could ultimately force members to accept migrants.

This week, the EU’s powerful executive arm announced that it would be scrapping the Dublin arrangements and replacing it with a “strong new solidarity mechanism”. The proposal would also open up more routes for migration and asylum.

Euractiv reported that the mechanism would give member-states a choice between hosting migrants or being responsible for returning failed asylum seekers under the “returned sponsorship schemes”.

While it is claimed accepting migrants would not be mandatory, the website notes that under a proposed “crisis preparedness” mechanism, nations would be forced to take migrants either permanently or during the repatriation process, such a crisis being on the scale of the 2015 Europe migrant crisis itself.

The report even suggests that states which opt to simply hold illegals until deportation will ending up having to keep them, owing to the difficulty of repatriation.

The mass migration-sceptic Visegrád, comprised of Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, rejected the proposals after meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday. (Slovakia’s premier was not present, and was represented by his Czech counterpart.)

A Man Who Violated Coronavirus Safety Orders By Throwing House Parties Has Been Sentenced To A Year In Prison

A 42-year-old man in Maryland was sentenced Friday to one year in prison after throwing two large parties in violation of the governor's coronavirus protective orders.

Shawn Marshall Myers was convicted of two counts of failure to comply with an emergency order and was immediately sentenced to serve a year in the Charles County Detention Center and three years of unsupervised probation after his release, the Charles County State's Attorney's Office (CCSAO) said.

Myers had hosted a party at his home in Hughesville on March 22 with approximately 50 guests, despite statewide coronavirus safety orders from Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan that banned large gatherings. When law enforcement officers arrived at his home, Myers was "argumentative," prosecutors said, but eventually agreed to disband the party.

Officers responded again to reports of another large party at Myers' home five days later. He also argued with officers this time, according to prosecutors, and told them that it was within his and his guests' right to congregate. Myers told his guests to defy statewide protective orders and the officers' request that they leave, prosecutors said, and he was then arrested.

Myers, who posted bond in April while awaiting trial, told FOX5 at the time that he regretted his handling of the situation.

"I definitely regret the way I handled it. I wish I had been more informed and given the opportunity to do it over again, I wouldn't do it the same way," he said.

He told FOX5 that he did not take the pandemic seriously at first, but while in jail watched news coverage about the virus and learned that a friend of his was sick with COVID-19.

The US has had more than 7 million coronavirus cases and more than 200,000 deaths so far. Maryland has recorded 122,972 cases and 3,925 deaths.

US Officials Must Be Prosecuted for Yemen War Crimes

When the Congress ordered Trump to end the undeclared war he "vetoed" its order

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently announced that it was providing $204 million in aid for the impoverished and war-ravaged country of Yemen. That sounds generous, but it’s the Saudi royals themselves who are responsible for most of the death, destruction, starvation, and disease in Yemen, in which 80 percent of the population, some 24 million, need outside assistance.

Riyadh has spent more than five years conducting a brutal air campaign intended to restore a pliant regime to power. The claim that the Kingdom is generously helping the needy is a bit like a man murdering his parents only to throw himself on the court’s mercy since he is an orphan. If Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman wanted to help the Yemeni people, he would simply end the war.

But he won’t, at least in part because the Trump administration is underwriting the Saudi government’s murderous campaign. Why is the president forcing Americans to assist the Saudi royals, who respect no political or religious liberty and kidnap, imprison, and murder their critics? President Donald Trump appears to be almost bewitched by the licentious and corrupt Saudis.

Washington sold Saudi Arabia planes and munitions used to kill thousands of Yemeni civilians. American personnel serviced and refueled the same planes, as well as providing intelligence to assist in targeting Saudi strikes. That makes U.S. officials complicit in war crimes committed day in and day out for more than five years. [Most crucially it is helping the Saudis in maintaining a naval blockade.]

The administration’s willingness to enthusiastically aid and abet the slaughter of innocent people to enhance the profits of the fabled merchants of death is a moral outrage. Indeed, the State Department’s Inspector General reported that it “found that the department did not fully assess risks and implement mitigation measures to reduce civilian casualties and legal concern associated with the transfer” of precision-guided bombs used against the Yemenis. The administration also misused its power to avoid congressional review of arms sales by claiming an “emergency.” That was simply a lie, used to shield administration dealings with the murderous Saudi royals from public scrutiny.

A new United Nations assessment of Yemen offers a devastating description of the war. According to the latest Comprehensive Report of the Group of Eminent International and Regional Experts on Yemen, there are no good guys in the fight. Explained the study: “The Group of Experts finds that the parties to the conflict continue to show no regard for international law or the lives, dignity, and rights of people in Yemen, while third states have helped to perpetuate the conflict by continuing to supply the parties with weapons.”

The most important of those third states is America. [Actually given its role the US is better described as a participant to the conflict, rather than a third state.]
