New York Times Debunks Several Conspiracy Theories with Trump’s Tax Returns

The New York Times‘ exposé on Donald Trump’s tax returns suggests that the president has suffered financial losses for many years, resulting in many years when he paid little or no federal income tax.

The Times speculates that the presidency itself is Trump’s only hope to recoup his losses, either through burnishing his brand or using his political power, ignoring conflicts of interest.

But the Times has also succeeded, albeit inadvertently, in debunking several common anti-Trump conspiracy theories.

Russia. The Times found no evidence of any links to Russia that were previously unreported. The tax returns, it says, do not “reveal any previously unreported connections to Russia.” All they show is that the 201 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow was “was the most profitable Miss Universe during Mr. Trump’s time as co-owner, and that it generated a personal payday of $2.3 million.” That’s all there is to the vast Russian business interests Democrats hinted (and hoped) the returns would show.

Michael Cohen. Prosecutors in New York have subpoenaed the tax returns for a criminal investigation — most likely, having to do with payments via Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen (now a convicted felon), to alleged lovers (including Stormy Daniels). The Times noted: “The materials obtained by The Times did not include any itemized payments to Mr. Cohen.” It added: “The amount, however, could have been improperly included in legal fees written off as a business expense.” That’s it.

The Audit. Democrats and journalists have mocked Trump’s long-standing claim that he could not release his tax returns because he faced an Internal Revenue Service audit. The Times confirmed the audit: “Also hanging over him is a decade-long audit battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the legitimacy of a $72.9 million tax refund that he claimed, and received, after declaring huge losses. An adverse ruling could cost him more than $100 million.” It is real, just as Trump has claimed.

There are likely other shoes to drop — and it is no accident that the Times has produced this exposé, featuring the Moby Dick of Trump’s opponents, roughly 48 hours before the first presidential debate. Trump’s tax returns, if real, and if summarized correctly by the Times, do not paint a flattering financial picture. Yet they also debunk many cherished left-wing fantasies — and they may confirm what Trump supporters have said since 2016: that he has sacrificed his personal fortune to serve.

‘Intergalactic Freak Show’: Sen. John Kennedy Says He Can’t Stop Democrats From Bringing The Protesters Back

Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy said Sunday that he and the other Senate Republicans couldn’t stop Democrats from allowing protesters to disrupt Supreme Court confirmation hearings.

Kennedy joined Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume, who was filling in for regular host Chris Wallace, on “Fox News Sunday” to discuss Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett and the likely fight in the Senate for her confirmation.

Hume began by addressing accusations of hypocrisy from both sides, asking whether there was a “serious case on both sides of this issue of ‘shoe on the other foot disease’?”

Kennedy agreed, saying, “In the history of ever, I don’t think there’s ever been another instance where when the Democrats were in charge they didn’t do what they wanted and when the Republicans were in charge they didn’t do what they wanted. Consistent with the Constitution. Right now we have a Republican president, a Republican Senate. If the shoe were on the other foot, then I can assure you Senator Schumer would do what the Republicans are doing right now. As I said the other day, if you don’t believe that, you know, you probably peaked in high school.”

Hume laughed, going on to ask whether Kennedy expected surprises and allegations to come out during the confirmation process, as was the case in 2018 with Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“If something like this comes along. I’m not sure what you can do about it. What can you do?” Hume asked.

“If my Democratic friends want to turn it, you know, turn it into an intergalactic freak show and bring back the protesters with the genitalia-shaped headgear, I can’t stop them,” Kennedy replied.

“I’m going to do my job,” Kennedy added. “I think she’s a good nominee, but my job is to advise and consent. I’m going to probe her intellect, or temperament, her judicial philosophy, her character. I want to be assured that she doesn’t think justices are politicians in robes.”

APOLOGIZE: Backlash grows after Biden compares Trump to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbles

Democratic candidate Joe Biden is getting a lot of heat for his outrageous comments comparing President Donald Trump Saturday to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbles. The backlash against those comments has been fierce on Twitter, with many people asking for an apology for the insulting and inaccurate comment.

Biden made the comments during an interview on MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle. She asked how he would handle and respond to Trump’s repeated claims that the Democratic Party, along with Biden, were pushing a Marxist, socialist agenda.

“This is unacceptable, offensive and demeans the memory of the Holocaust,” Milstein, who is also a friend of mine for full disclosure stated. “Biden must apologize!” Adam Milstein

Trump is like “Goebbels,” said Biden. “You say the lie long enough, keep repeating it, repeating it, repeating it, it becomes common knowledge…I think people see very clearly the difference between me and Donald Trump.”

“Trump is clearing protests in front of the White House that are peaceful, you know, with the military,” Biden went on to say. “This guy is more Castro than Churchill.”

Adam Milstein, a well-known and well respected Jewish philanthropist, said in a Tweet, “Goebbels helped carry out the systematic murder of more than six million Jewish people.”

“This is unacceptable, offensive and demeans the memory of the Holocaust,” Milstein, who is also a friend of mine for full disclosure stated. “Biden must apologize!”

“This is unacceptable, offensive and demeans the memory of the Holocaust,” Milstein, who is also a friend of mine for full disclosure stated. “Biden must apologize!”

The tragedy, in my opinion, is that many anti-Trump Biden supporters also seem to be perpetuating these dangerous comments. Moreover, there are also many antiSemitic tweets on Twitter and the platform is doing little to stop that propaganda. SAD!

Biden should be ashamed of himself and like Milstein has demanded, along with many others, he must apologize.

Hollywood Reacts to New York Times Tax Returns Story: ‘Donald Capone’

Hollywood celebrities reacted in outrage and alarm at the New York Times‘ exposé Sunday, in which the Times reported that it had obtained President Donald Trump’s tax returns going back over two decades.

In recent years, the Times noted, President Trump had paid little to no taxes, thanks to recording heavy business losses.

The Times also noted that there was no evidence of any unknown financial links to Russia; that nothing in the tax returns showed illicit payments to former lawyer Michael Cohen; and that Trump was, as he had long claimed, been under a lengthy audit from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Nearly 500 NYPD Cops Injured Since May Due to Anti-Police Protests

More than 470 New York City police officers have been injured in the line of duty due to anti-police protests since May of this year, according to data through September 24 from the department and the New York Post.

Black Lives Matter protests, sparked across the nation after the death of George Floyd, sent thousands of people flooding the streets of major American cities, including one of the largest, New York City.

Officials from the department have stated that officers have been on the receiving end of Molotov cocktails, shot at, stabbed, hit with rocks and bricks, and hit by vehicles.

Of the 472 who reported injuries, 319 of those needed medical attention from a hospital. Seven of those who were injured were admitted into a hospital, such as Lt. Richard Mack, who was severely beaten as he made an arrest on the Brooklyn Bridge in July.

“This behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” NYPD spokeswoman Sgt. Mary Frances O’Donnell said in a statement to the New York Post.

So far this year, a total of 7,528 NYPD line-of-duty injuries have been reported, up 47 percent from last year, which had 5,133 injuries.

“The average person doesn’t hear about the daily assaults and injuries to police officers,” said NYPD Sgt. Joseph Imperatrice, the founder of Blue Lives Matter NYC. “Officers are hurt every single day whether in regards to being assigned to routine patrol or a riot location.”

Describing a certain instance involving looters, Imperatrice said protesters threw “air mail” at cops. The items thrown at cops included drink bottles, rocks, garbage of sorts, and pieces of brick. Imperatrice also stated that an inspector on the scene sprained his hand while he was “tackling a subject running away from the scene of a location where they had just broken storefront windows.”

In June, two Brooklyn attorneys were charged with throwing a molotov cocktail at a crowded NYPD vehicle as riots were taking place.

Patrick Lynch, the head of the Police Benevolent Association, has taken offense to city officials who are “encouraging” the violence and not supporting the police.

“The chaos that politicians are encouraging on the streets is putting cops in the hospital,” Lynch said. “It is not just the nearly 500 cops who have been hit with bricks and bottles or otherwise injured during supposedly ‘peaceful’ protests.”

“Hundreds more are being injured because criminals are emboldened to fight cops the moment we step on the scene,” Lynch added. “They know our hands are tied. Every New Yorker needs to ask their elected officials how cops can protect them when we can barely protect ourselves.”

'Excellent idea!': Ted Cruz responds to Dem senator's threat to boycott Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation

'And we'll confirm her faster!'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) fired back the perfect response to Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal on Sunday after the Connecticut lawmaker promised to boycott Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation.

In a lengthy Twitter rant, Blumenthal called Barrett's nomination an "illegitimate sham process." He claimed "Barrett's views would harm real lives" — citing health care and female reproductive rights — and ultimately vowed to boycott her entire confirmation process.

"I will refuse to treat this process as legitimate & will not meet with Judge Amy Coney Barrett," Blumenthal said.

How did Cruz respond?

The Texas senator said Blumenthal's promise to boycott Barrett is not a bad thing. In fact, Cruz said it would be beneficial if every Democratic senator took the same position as Blumenthal.

That way, Barrett would be confirmed to the Supreme Court even quicker.

"Excellent idea! And if you & all your Dem colleagues boycott the hearing altogether, we'll avoid the political circus & the desperate attempts to smear Judge Barrett and her family," Cruz said. "And we'll confirm her faster!"

Unfortunately for Cruz, Democrats, despite not having enough votes in the Senate to block Barrett's nomination, are not going to stand by idly.

What are Democrats gonna do?

According to Politico, Senate Democrats are going to use every weapon in their arsenal to try and delay Barrett's unstoppable confirmation.

From Politico:

Senate Democrats can't stop Mitch McConnell from confirming a new Supreme Court justice, but they are already planning to make it as painful as possible. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has his caucus on board with an effort to disrupt and obstruct Senate Republicans, using a wide range of procedural tools to try to make it difficult for the Senate majority leader.

Interviews with more than a dozen Democratic senators revealed broad support for disrupting the Supreme Court confirmation process, even if the strategy yields some collateral damage. Yet Democrats facing tough reelections and those who typically spurn delay tactics overwhelmingly support the hardball campaign, potentially putting them at increased risk of losing their seats.

The options of disruptment include invoking the rarely-used "two-hour rule," denying a quorum, calling points of order and motions to adjourn, delaying legislative business, and delaying the final Senate Judiciary Committee vote on Barrett, according to Politico.

"Process is everything. So if you're going to use the process to try to steal an election, then we're going to use the process to try to do everything for that not to happen," Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) told Politico.
