same kind of failure. different failure.
REALLY NICE FIND!
>What if there was an explosive in the window and it was triggered at the same time as the engine
I looked at the photos and I can't see any evidence of an explosion in the window. Looks exactly like what it would look like if something hit the window enough to break the seal. The outward pressure would be something on the order of 12 lbs. per sq. inch or 16,00 lbs. of pressure on the window. It wouldn't take much to dislodge the window if it were hit hard enough to cause a small rip in the seal. The outer window would just fly out of the plane and the pressure from inside the plane would cause exactly what the photo shows. (My opinion.)
1,600 lbs. FOK.
looks like he made the cut…
Look again. I think your visual cortex is confusing you. The edges of those shards are the wing.
There's another photo that explains it much more clearly. You're seeing insulation around the edges of the window and the outside is overexposed. Find the higher resolution image by scrolling up.
outside the plane? it dose have a reddish tint. are there photos inside the plane (relevant?)
5000 feet would have a much lower air pressure differential, but then we don't know any details of the how the debris hit the window.
