It does. I'm thinking he knows a lot and bad guys need that info. Wife selling him out is the simplest explanation. Not saying that it's true, but from your description of Brad, some outside force set this off. Wife upset that he's never home and wants to get even is a possibility, especially if she's stunning, as you say. She may have gotten honey potted for the purpose of getting to Brad.
