Biden campaign wants Facebook to crack down on voting ‘misinformation’ by Trump, after illegal pro-Dem ballot scheme uncovered

The Biden campaign has asked Facebook to clamp down on President Trump for spreading “falsehoods about mail voting.” Meanwhile, Trump wants an alleged voter fraud scheme in Minnesota investigated.

In a letter to Facebook published by US news website Axios on Tuesday, the Biden campaign accuses the Silicon Valley giant of “regression” on its own pledge to “protect our democracy.” The campaign claims that a number of posts by President Donald Trump and his son, Donald Jr, amount to “dangerous claptrap” and a “storm of misinformation.”

Trump Jr claims in one video that Democrats “plan to add millions of fraudulent ballots that can cancel your vote and overturn the election,” while President Trump encouraged voters casting their vote by mail to show up at their polling place to make sure their vote has been counted, and vote again if possible.

Though the letter comes just hours before the first presidential debate, and as election season enters its final breakneck stretch, it’s not the first warning that Team Biden has sent to Facebook. Back in June, the campaign organized a petition and wrote to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, asking him to remove “false, viral information” from “bad actors and conspiracy theorists.”

Trump has long accused Biden and the Democrats of plotting voter fraud, and, over the past two years, has made several calls for a voter ID system to be introduced in the US. Despite the president being accused of fear-mongering, recent developments indicate that, at least in certain areas, fraud is being committed.

“For 11 years, I’ve been saying that JPMorgan and Jamie Dimon have been funding terrorism. Now, FinCen says exactly the same!” Max points out.

In Max’s opinion, those five banks are like the five crime families of New York during the 1970s. When one of those families was arrested and busted, the remaining four consolidated and became more powerful. “And that continued until there was one super-crime family that was too big to prosecute,” says Max, adding that the only way to curb such activity is to apply anti-racketeering law.

US carrier-launched airstrike targets ISIS in Iraq for first time in 2 years

A pair of U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornets embarked on the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) carried out the first carrier-launched airstrike in more than two years against the Islamic State terror group.

The Wednesday mission was the first carrier-launched airstrike in over two years. Cmdr. Rebecca Rebarich, a spokeswoman for the Bahrain-based U.S. 5th Fleet, confirmed the airstrike as a carrier-launched operation in an emailed statement to American Military News. Rebarich said, “The last such strike was by USS Theodore Roosevelt in March 2018.”

While there have been no carrier-launched airstrikes in around 30 months, aircraft embarked aboard amphibious landing ships in the region have conducted some strikes during that 30-month period.

An airstrike coordinated by U.S. Coalition Forces and launched that same day targeted the ISIS locations in Wadi Al-Shai, a rural area in the Kirkuk province, destroying a cave structure and three more shelters being used as hideouts by the ISIS terror group in the Kirkuk province of northern Iraq on Wednesday.

Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Col. Wayne Marotto described the strike mission in a Thursday tweet, saying, “W/ @modmiliq approval @Coalition conducted a strike on Daesh hideouts in Wadi Al-Shai, Iraq Sep 23, destroying one cave and three shelters. Daesh operatives will continue to try and take advantage of safe havens; but there is no safe place for terrorists to hide. #defeatdaesh.”

Global banks reported $2 trillion in suspicious transactions over two decades, new report shows

Global banks moved over a nearly two-decade period more than $2 trillion in payments they believed were suspicious, according to a new investigative report that raises questions about whether financial institutions and governments are doing enough to stop illicit money flows.

The report, published September 20 by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, is based on thousands of leaked documents from the U.S. Treasury Department’s arm that investigates money laundering.

The documents show how major Western banks, including JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank, helped criminal networks around the world, including from the former Soviet Union, move and hide money.

It is at least the fifth major leak over the past six years exposing the depth of global corruption.

N.J. man gets federal prison for selling faulty machine gun stands to U.S. Army

A Hackettstown man was sentenced to four months in prison earlier this month for lying about the strength of steel used to make machine gun stands his company sold to the U.S. military.

The weak steel in the machine gun bipod assemblies and faulty head and collar joints caused the two-legged stands to fail when soldiers tried to use them, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Newark.

Mark Colello pleaded guilty in December to two counts of making false statements, according to the online court docket. U.S. District Judge William J. Martini sentenced him on Sept. 10, 2020. Colello was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and served two years of supervised release, online records say.

Colello’s company, Applied Resources Corporation of Wharton, Morris County, made the bipod assemblies for the U.S. Army, according to charging documents. The company won the U.S. Department of Defense contract in April 2015 to make the assemblies for M249 light machine guns.

Colello falsified test results for the hardness of steel used to make the gun assemblies and for the magnetic particle inspection of the head and collar joints for the bipods, according to the news release.

Even if it has been a while since you read Fahrenheit 451, you might remember Ray Bradbury’s classic for its portrayal of a dystopian future in which an authoritarian government burns books.

Read Fahrenheit 451 again to discover why people wanted their tyrannical government to burn books. Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 in 1953, yet the parallels to today’s social climate for censorship are haunting.

Bradbury’s protagonist is Guy Montag, who, like all firemen in Bradbury’s future, burns books.

In Bradbury’s dystopia, firemen became “custodians of our peace of mind, the focus of our understandable and rightful dread of being inferior; official censors, judges, and executors.”

Today’s mainstream and social media are “custodians of our peace of mind” as they filter out “conflicting theory and thought.” Captain Beatty is Montag’s boss. Beatty explained, “If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one.”
