Boleskine House

Famously known as the property bought by the notorious Aleister Crowley to carry out his 'practices'. Also famously known as being bought by guitar legend Jimmy Page from 1970 - 1992. But what became of the property after that?

Well, from 1992 to 2002 the MacGillivray family owned it and converted it into a hotel. It was sold in 2002 after Mr MacGillivray's death to an "anonymous Dutch family".

This family (who apparently had no interest in the houses history) stayed there until 2015 when a fire mysteriously broke out when no one was home, leaving the property severely damaged.

At this point The Boleskine House Foundation stepped in and acquired the property which was marketed at £500,000. In July 2019 another fire was "started" which destroyed the remaining rooms of the house.

Now on to the Boleskine House Foundation. Look them up on wiki and you will be presented with a non-profit organisation that intends to rebuild the house. In their own words - "Once restored, the estate will be opened to the public for the purposes of heritage, education, health and wellness".

The two founders of this organisation are Keith and Kyra Readdy. Keith is the author of One Truth and One Spirit - Aleister Crowley's Spiritual Legacy. Keith is also a member of Ordo Templi Orientis, the cult founded by Crowley. Even gives talks at their events!
