The founder of a far-right men's group is suing a US organisation that works to counter bigotry after it labelled the Proud Boys a hate group, in the latest attempt to use litigation to fight the extremist label.

Facebook and Instagram have banned the Proud Boys and Gavin McInnes from their platforms
Mr McInnes, however, described the group as "basically a pro-Trump drinking club".
At least three similar suits have been filed against the SPLC since June
Gavin McInnes, who started the group that describes its members as "Western chauvinists", said in the suit he was banned from social media platforms and his livelihood suffered after receiving the designation from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
