That she was an American is very troubling. Loose ends, indeed. In many US embassies, the Foreign Service Nationals will outnumber the Foreign Service Officers. But she was a family member working there and it will be interesting to know what info she (or her husband) had access to. Very sad indeed.

You may be aware that you learned a good lesson by this. The frenzy is always working to obscure what's really going on. Biden was always going to show up to the debates and do just fine. He's a politician and even though he called lids, and misspoke a dozen times, and seemed to slip, just who do you think "planted" the idea that he would be addled, or replaced, or sick with COVID, or a million other things to place the bar so low that he didn't even need to step over it? Remember that a lot of noise is intentional. There are foreign influences and plenty of domestic ones as well. But in reality, most things are not convoluted or secret or contrived. If you stay open minded, skeptical, trust but verify, and aren't too surprised by anything, you'll be far less disappointed in life.
And this: trying to live up to a legend is a wearisome thing.
