Condemn the straw man and ignore the barbarian inside the gates. This is US bullshit politics.
Because the Presidential Debate itself is an irrelevant anachronism. Its continuance is solely for the establishment to stamp its supposed authority on the election process. It was never more than theater, when selected candidates would posture for the unwashed and ignorant masses. Now that there is a monstrous chasm of fundamental philosophical divergence separating the opposing parties, neither the forum nor the format - nor perhaps even debate itself - is capable of accomplishing anything of value.
I’m not convinced that a Biden does not have dementia and has merely been larping as a frail old man hiding in his basement. When there are other viable explanations, no avenue of consideration should be foreclosed. Administration of a cocktail of suitable pharmaceuticals is a more than plausible explanation for last night’s better-than-anticipated performance by Biden. To suppose that he’s been play acting incompetence for the last many months requires attributing thespian accomplishments to Biden that I find far harder to accept.
