Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) is a team of civic technologists, trainers, researchers, election administration and data experts working to foster a more informed and engaged democracy, and helping to modernize U.S. elections.

Tiana Epps-Johnson is Founder and Executive Director with the Center for Tech and Civic Life. Tiana is a recipient of the 2020 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, and was selected to join the inaugural cohorts of Obama Foundation Fellows (2018)

The gift is one of the largest-ever gifts from the couple, whose philanthropic pursuits are primarily carried out by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.  The majority of the donation—$250 million—will go to the Center for Tech and Civic Life, a Chicago-based nonprofit that works to promote civic engagement.
