Wife of Boston Marathon hero said Biden touched her in 'an inappropriate and uncomfortable way'

The wife of a Massachusetts transit police officer who was injured in the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombers accused Joe Biden of touching her inappropriately and making a suggestive comment in 2014. In two Facebook posts, one of which has since been deleted, Kim Donohue alleged that during a remembrance ceremony in Boston, a year after the April 2013 deadly bombing, then-Vice President Biden began "rubbing" her lower back. "Look at those eyes, where did you get those eyes?, Donohue wrote. "Anyone else as good looking as you in that family…those eyes are mesmerizing, people must just do whatever you say." In a separate post, this one made in July, 2016 Donohue reiterated her claim that Biden "greeted me by rubbing my back in an inappropriate and uncomfortable way," then "pushed" her husband, Dic Donohue, who was shot in the leg by one of the Tsarnaev brothers, aside. "Biden then asked if I wanted to ride in a car with him down to a ceremony we were all attending at the Marathon finish line," Donohue wrote. "He led me down a black hallway (Dic of course followed) and I got inside the most uncomfortable 3 person car ride I have ever been in." When reached for comment, Donohue confirmed making the accusations against Biden but would not discuss them further. An individual close to Donohue said her politics have shifted since the Obama years and is now supportive of the Democratic Party and Biden's candidacy. "I couldn't get out of that car fast enough, I practically dove into the pavement," Donohue wrote in the comments of the post.

Dic Donohue, who retired from law enforcement in 2016, nearly died following a shootout with the Tsarnaev brothers, who were responsbile for detonating two bombs near the finish line of the Boston marathon that killed three people and injuring 264 others. During his remarks at the one-year anniversary of the attacks praised first responders like Dic Donohue for their courage. “We will never yield, we will never cower, America will never ever, ever stand down,” Biden said. “We are Boston. We are America. We respond, we endure, we overcome, and we own the finish line! God bless you all, and may God protect our troops.” The Biden campaign did not comment on the social media posts from Donohue. Since right before Biden first entered the presidential campaign in April, 2019, multiple women have come forward accusing him of inappropriate behavior. "I’m not sorry for any of my intentions. I’m not sorry for anything that I have ever done," Biden said in a video after eight women came forward accusing him of unwanted touching. "I have never been disrespectful intentionally to a man or a woman." Biden later said he "wouldn't be surprised" if more women came forward sharing similar experiences. The first woman to come forward, Lucy Flores, was the 2014 Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor of Nevada. In an essay for the Cut, Flores said Biden approached her from behind, kissed the back of her head, and smelled her hair. "I recognize my responsibility to be a voice, an advocate, and a leader for the change in culture that has begun but is nowhere near finished. So I want to address allegations by a former staffer that I engaged in misconduct 27 years ago," Biden said in a statement released in May. "They aren’t true. This never happened." Multiple women have accused President Trump of sexual misconduct, including two women who accused him of sexual battery in court. Nearly a dozen of other women have accused the president of unwanted groping and other advances during his pre-White House days.

Clare Bronfman Sentenced to 81 Months in NXIVM Sex-Cult Case

Seagram’s liquor heiress Clare Bronfman was sentenced to 81 months in prison on Wednesday in relation to the Brooklyn federal court NXIVM sex cult case. She was taken into custody following sentencing. She wore a dark face mask with a flower pattern. Before Bronfman was sentenced, she addressed the court, her voice characterized by a slight British accent. She said she was “immensely thankful and privileged” to have support, saying people “know my goodness.” “They’re praying for me.” She said, “I had made mistakes,” and she is “truly sorry for all the pain I have caused.” Addressing the victim in her immigration crime, Bronfman said she hoped the woman would go on to “live a very happy life.” “I’m sorry for the time and resources I’ve taken,” she also said. Nine people gave victim impact statements, three via prerecorded video and six in person, before Bronfman was sentenced, detailing how Bronfman’s involvement at NXIVM harmed them. Their words were often punctuated by tears and choked up breathing. The overwhelming theme in these statements: Bronfman weaponized her vast wealth, both by pursuing perceived enemies of the group and enabling Raniere’s behavior. “Claire, you gave millions of dollars to him,” one victim said in a video statement. Even if Bronfman didn’t know what the money went toward, the woman said: “you were and are the propellant to this unyielding fire.” “Did you ever consider that they just wanted your money and what would have happened if you just stopped giving your money?” one woman said. “Would you be as important to them?” One woman, who said she had a 13-year-old son with Raniere, said that he never paid child support. Because of Bronfman’s financial misconduct, this woman said, the situation “is depriving my son of proper financial support.” Others described their continued fear of Bronfman, with one saying, “I’m always going to be looking over my shoulder.” Another echoed the sentiment of looking over her shoulder.

In imposing the hefty sentence, Judge Nicholas Garaufis said, “This is not a defendant who has shown great respect for the law.” Garaufis also imposed a $500,000 fine on Bronfman and ordered her to pay $96,605 in restitution to the victim of her immigration crime. Bronfman previously agreed to forfeit $6 million. Asked for comment, Bronfman’s lawyer, Ron Sullivan, said, “We’re going to immediately appeal.” “It was a miscarriage of justice,” he said.
