It is possible that LG is working within the narrative allowed by MSM and always pushing at edges. If you go to far to fast the media is able to paint you as fringe. Right now mainstream thinking is not too far from LG and he keeps moving it slowly to the truth.

You mean they are worthless when they can be seen or are not valid passwords? The first is true, the second is not necessarily. Plenty of IT equipment has clear text passwords. Yes there are sometimes encrypted passwords shown and hopefully more organizations are actually doing that, but a couple of years ago, huge amounts of network equipment still had clear text passwords, accessed via clear text telnet.
