Satire only works when it’s distinguishable from reality, but close enough to elements of reality that one can imagine a world in which the satirical take might indeed be true. I daily find myself wondering whether satire will be possible for much longer. Babylon Bee’s recent wheeze on the NBA stars wearing RBG robes and lace collars cane within a hair’s breadth of believability as a “news” item.
