Possible, love to see that happen as a little side note to this episode yet I agree with anon consensus that this is to isolate/insulate POTUS and FLOTUS.

CIA Director Gina Haspel Blocking Declassifying Critical Documents

Related To Russia Investigation, Report Says

By Ryan Saavedra

OCTOBER 1, 2020

Sean Davis, co-founder of The Federalist, reported on Wednesday night that CIA Director Gina Haspel is reportedly blocking the declassification and release of critical documents related to the FBI’s surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016.

“I can report here tonight that these declassifications that have come out, those weren’t easy to get out and there’s in fact far more waiting to get out,” Davis told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “Unfortunately, those releases and declassifications, according to multiple sources I’ve talked to, are being blocked by CIA Director Gina Haspel, who herself was the main link between Washington and London as the London station chief for John Brennan’s CIA during the 2016 election.”

“Recall it was London where Christopher Steele was doing all this work,” Davis continued. “And I’m told that it is Gina Haspel personally who’s blocking continued declassification of these documents that will show the American people the truth of what actually happened.”

Davis said that he believes that one reason that certain U.S. officials are making it difficult to declassify documents is because they are “likely implicated by” the documents, adding that their careers could be damaged based on what is contained in the documents.

Wait…Is CIA Director Gina Haspel Blocking Declassification

of Russian Collusion Documents?

Matt VespaMatt Vespa| @mvespa1|

We could have a problem regarding the full transparency of the Russian collusion fiasco that has engulfed the news media and the Democratic Party for the past three years. Actually, it’s still a topic of discussion despite the entire narrative having more holes through it than Bonnie and Clyde. As Sean Davis of The Federalist told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, it appears that CIA Director Gina Haspel might be the person blocking the declassification of documents that could shed more light on this myth.

We already had revelations that the Trump-Russia circus might have been drummed up by Hillary Clinton to distract the public from her ongoing email troubles during the 2016 election, an issue that tanked her character numbers with voters. Obama was also reportedly briefed on this matter by then-CIA Director John Brennan.

Haspel was CIA station chief in London during Brennan’s tenure, and London is where Christopher Steele did all his work compiling the infamous dossier that set off the collusion delusion (via the Federalist):

CIA, NSA chiefs opposed release of unverified Russia

intelligence to Republican lawmaker: sources

By Jonathan Landay, Mark Hosenball

OCTOBER 1, 2020 5:35 PM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The CIA and National Security Agency directors opposed U.S. spy chief John Ratcliffe’s decision to declassify and send to a top Republican lawmaker unverified Russian intelligence that may have been fabricated, according to current and former U.S. officials.

The disclosure that CIA Director Gina Haspel and NSA Director Paul Nakasone opposed the material’s release comes after Democrats and former U.S. intelligence officials alleged Ratcliffe made it public for the political purpose of helping President Donald Trump as he pursues a tough re-election fight.

Three U.S. officials and a former U.S. intelligence official said Haspel resisted the material’s release, with two saying she worried that its disclosure could reveal the methods by which it was obtained.

Nakasone, whose agency intercepts worldwide communications, also opposed the materials’ release to Senator Lindsey Graham, said two sources, one of whom acknowledged that the Army general had the same concern as Haspel.

Moreover, a U.S. official said, the material Ratcliffe supplied to Graham in a letter the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman released on Tuesday was “selective” and misrepresented intelligence reporting.

The sources requested anonymity because of the issue’s sensitivity.

The CIA and the NSA declined to respond to requests for comment. “We won’t comment on internal IC (intelligence community) deliberations,” said a Ratcliffe spokeswoman, who did not respond to charges the intelligence was politicized.

In his letter, Ratcliffe said a Russian intelligence analysis alleged that Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, approved a plan to create “a scandal” by tying Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian hacking of Democratic National Committee computers.

Ratcliffe, a former Texas congressman who the Senate narrowly confirmed in May as director of national intelligence, provided the material despite noting that it was unverified by U.S. intelligence agencies and “may reflect exaggeration or fabrication.”

The material contradicted a 2017 U.S. intelligence report and the bipartisan findings of a Senate Intelligence Committee investigation that Russia used hacking and other means in an operation designed to sway the 2016 vote to Trump. Russia denies election interference.

The Senate Intelligence Committee reviewed the material and discarded it as unreliable, said a congressional source.

The Senate Intelligence Committee reviewed the material and discarded it as unreliable, said a congressional source.

"When you look at the sourcing it tells you it's not something to be taken seriously," said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Another source said that US agencies believed the material reflected Russians "talking to themselves about things, and what they think those things are, and what those things mean." A more significant meaning should not be drawn, the source said.

Graham said in a statement on Tuesday that the veracity of the material was "not the question," but whether the FBI investigated the information just as it investigated links between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia.

The FBI investigation was taken over by former Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who found no evidence of a conspiracy between Moscow and the campaign.

Graham, a critic of the FBI probe and Trump loyalist facing a re-election fight, cited the material from Ratcliffe on Wednesday as he chaired a judiciary committee hearing featuring former FBI Director James Comey.

The materials' release raised questions about the motives and timing of its publication. Democratic Representative Adam Schiff, House Intelligence Committee chairman, on Wednesday accused Ratcliffe of "selective declassification" of "intelligence which he acknowledges may be fabricated" for political purposes, the release of which may have compromised U.S. espionage methods. "I cannot remember an instance where the intelligence community declassified information that may or may not be accurate," said John Mossman, a former senior CIA official who also served as a Republican staff director for the Senate Intelligence Committee.

US, Vatican clash over China as Pompeo urges harsher stance

After talks with Mike Pompeo, Holy See asserts right to move forward on accord with China about appointment of bishops.

2 Oct 2020

The Vatican’s number-two official asserted the city state’s right to pursue an accord with Beijing on the appointment of bishops that has been strongly criticised by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo following talks between the two sides in Rome.

Pompeo met Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Foreign Minister Archbishop Paul Gallagher on Thursday on a visit marked by Vatican irritation over Pompeo accusing the Holy See of putting its “moral authority” at risk if it renewed an agreement with China on the appointment of bishops.

The essay, published in a conservative US Catholic publication that has called Pope Francis’ pontificate a failure, sparked a minor diplomatic crisis. Vatican officials suggested Pompeo was trying to drag the Catholic Church into the US presidential election by denouncing its relations with China; an allegation Pompeo denied.

Parolin, second only to the pope in the Vatican hierarchy, spoke to reporters on the sidelines of a book launch on Thursday night and said the two sides’ positions remained far apart on their approach to China.

“He (Pompeo) explained his reasons for making those statements and we explained our reasons why we intend to move ahead on the path we have already chosen,” Parolin said.

The Vatican “asserts (the right to move forward) with a choice that has been thought through, reflected on, prayed over, a choice the pope has made, therefore the freedom to move forward”, he added.

The Vatican wants to extend the China accord, which was signed in 2018 and envisages a process of dialogue in the selection of bishops. It hopes the agreement will help unite China’s Catholics, who have been split between those clandestinely following Rome – and those belonging to an official, state-sanctioned church set up by the Communist Party.

Pope Francis Refused to Meet With Pompeo, Citing Election

as Conflict of Interest

October 1, 2020 Quinton Zuk

Pope Francis declined to see U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo while he visited the Vatican Thursday.

The pope said he does not see politicians during an election period.

The Catholic Church has recently been negotiating with China about religious freedoms in the communist country.

The Vatican accused Pompeo of trying to use that issue to attract voters in November’s presidential election.

In a speech in Rome on Wednesday, Pompeo called on the Vatican to defend religious freedom in China, saying “nowhere is religious freedom under assault more than in China.”

Pompeo’s China-smearing on religious, human rights front

face backlash from Chinese embassy

Global Times Published: 2020/10/2 11:35:07

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s smearing remarks about China on human rights and religious subjects during his visit to Rome, the capital of Italy, reeked of ideological prejudice and ignorance toward China, renounced the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Italy.

The Chinese Embassy in Italy strongly opposed and denounced Pompeo’s remarks made on Wednesday when he was visiting Italy, where he attacked China’s record on religious freedom and human rights.

When the People’s Republic of China was founded 71 years ago, Chinese people have taken a road that is most suitable for their own development. They have ever since enjoyed an unprecedented sense of achievement, happiness and security, said the embassy spokesperson, noting that it is most important to note what the 1.4 billion Chinese people have to say about the quality of China’s human rights and religious condition, rather than those irresponsible comments made by some foreign politicians.

The embassy then quoted an Italian idiom “chi semina vento, raccoglie tempest” (which translates to “you reap what you sow” in English), noting that the jabbering Pompeo would do well to keep his mouth shut about issues that are quite literally “foreign” to him.

After his visit to Rome, Pompeo also visited the Vatican, where he again played his well-worn card of criticizing China. He told Fox News after meeting with his Vatican counterpart, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the Vatican foreign minister, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, that he urged them “to take a stronger view, to express their moral witness against these depredations that are taking place there in China,” according to Reuters.

Previously, Pompeo also exerted pressure on the Vatican to avoid renewing the provisional bishop agreement between China and the Vatican. But many experts told the Global Times that his remarks are unlikely to sway the Vatican’s stance on the deal’s renewal.

Pompeo, Vatican talk China after tensions spill out publicly

The Vatican declined Pompeo's request to see Pope Francis

By PTI October 02, 2020 10:02 IST

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Vatican officials discussed their differences over China on Thursday, the Vatican said, a day after tensions over the Holy See's outreach to Beijing spilled out in public. Pompeo spent 45 minutes in the Apostolic Palace with his Vatican counterpart, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the Vatican foreign minister, Archbishop Paul Gallagher.

Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said both sides presented their respective positions" about relations with China in a climate of respect, openness and cordiality". Pompeo was in Rome to participate in a conference on religious freedom organised by the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See, and to meet with Italian and Vatican officials.

The Vatican declined Pompeo's request to see Pope Francis, citing Holy See policy to not grant papal audiences during election campaigns, Parolin said.

During the Wednesday conference, Pompeo urged the Holy See to join the United States in denouncing violations of religious freedom in China, part of the U.S. campaign to criticize Beijing's crackdown on religious and ethnic minorities that has increased amid the coronavirus pandemic and before the Nov. 3 U.S. presidential election.

The conference was held at the same time the Vatican is entering into delicate negotiations with Beijing on extending their controversial 2018 agreement on nominating bishops for China.
