Yes, I've heard (sorry no sauce, unless you know BDA, who is a person on half-chan) there were two strains.
First one killed 5 thousand in China and was allegedly buried with the dead and never mentioned again.
Second one was released accidentally in a car accident during transport from Wuhan and then was weakened before it hit the U.S. somehow. (So it was kind of a "swing and a miss", which would explain the anger enamating from POTUS when he talks about it.)
Evidently, this thing is still dangerous, as it mutates into worse and worse strains.
not seeing any evidence of that last part as of yet.
time will tell.
