Collin Patrick Green[1] (born 1962) is a rear admiral in the United States Navy, who serves as the commander of the Naval Special Warfare Command.

He graduated and was commissioned from the United States Naval Academy in 1986. Green also holds degrees from the Catholic University of America and United States Naval War College.[2]

He is a naval special warfare officer and previously served as commander of United States Special Operations Command South from 2016 to June 2018.[3]

 

Green will step down from his current post in September 2020, a year early. Some believe this is due to his interactions with President Trump over the decision by the president to reinstate the rank of SEAL Eddie Gallagher.[4]

Police in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, have launched an investigation into a deadly attack on a U.S. Embassy employee.

 

Police said in a statement Thursday that a woman was found unconscious the previous day with a head wound in a park near a railway line in Kyiv's Shevchenko district.

 

The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was rushed to a hospital, where she died hours later, the statement says, adding that documents found in the woman's purse showed that she was an employee of the U.S. Embassy.

 

The statement also provided a description of a possible assailant.

 

"[The attacker] may be a man 30-40 years of age, 190-200 centimeters tall, wearing black shorts, dark-blue sneakers and a T-shirt, with dark hair cut short on the sides," the statement said.

 

The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv said on Twitter September 30 that the victim of the attack was an American citizen.

 

"We are heartbroken to report the death of an American member of the U.S. Embassy Kyiv community. Officials from U.S. Embassy Kyiv are currently working with authorities to determine the circumstances of the death," the statement said.

Police in Ukraine are investigating the death of an American woman who worked for the United States Embassy in Kyiv. The woman was found unconscious with a head injury near the railway tracks in a park not far from the embassy on Wednesday, according to a police statement.

 

She died in a hospital later in the day. A U.S. Embassy ID was found in her belongings.

 

The Embassy confirmed the woman was a U.S. citizen in a statement and said they were "heartbroken" to report her death. Embassy officials were "working with authorities to determine the circumstances of the death."
