US Intelligence "Monitoring" Foreign Adversaries For Signs They'll Exploit President's Illness

US intelligence, the Pentagon, and national security officials are closely monitoring how America's rivals and enemies "react" to Thursday night's shock news of President Trump's coronavirus diagnosis, for which he's since said to be exhibiting mild symptoms.

"The U.S. military stands ready to defend our country and its citizens," Joint Staff spokesperson Col. Dave Butler said Friday, according to Politico. "There’s no change to the readiness or capability of our armed forces."

"What we are anticipating is that the Russian actors and probably the Iranians will play this up," one anonymous defense official also added. Further the countries of China and North Korea are also being monitored, according to the report.

Specifically US intelligence will scrutinizing any "subtle increase in activity against us, knowing we are preoccupied, and the opportunity to test us, perhaps," Marc Polymeropoulos, a former CIA Senior Intelligence Service officer, described to Politico.

The former CIA officer emphasized that "Our enemies will see us in a vulnerable state."

And another defense official stated:

“There is always the possibility that adversaries will seek to exploit the information space and talk propaganda…We are definitely monitoring and keeping aware.”

Typically such "monitoring" takes place in foreign media observation rooms set up within most intelligence agency branch HQs, which reports to the chain of command major developments conveyed via foreign state news organizations abroad.

Meanwhile Florida Senator Marco Rubio, who serves on the powerful Committee on Foreign Relations, had this warning for US adversaries:

Other commentators wondered about the near future possibility of a 25th Amendment crisis being triggered, transferring head of state powers to the Vice President.

Still others questioned whether the opaque and controversial 'Continuity of Government' protocols, which were subject to post 9/11 discussion and debate in media for a time, might eventually be triggered should the president's health turn dire.

FOX News Hack Chris Wallace Claims Dr. Scott Atlas Is Political and Should be More Like Dr’s Fauci and Birx

Chris Wallace is showing his true colors this week. He corrupted the first 2020 Presidential debate by disrespecting and interrupting the President over and over again and then today disparaged Dr. Scott Atlas while praising corrupt doctors Fauci and Birx.

Chris Wallace from FOX News showed more of his anti-Trump bias today after his horrible debate performance on Tuesday night. Wallace set himself apart as the most biased debate moderator in US history. When discussing the President’s diagnosis with the China coronavirus, Wallace claimed that the answer is “wear a damn mask”.

Of course there is absolutely no empirical evidence to prove that wearing a mask will help save yourself from contracting the China coronavirus from someone else, nor will it prevent you from spreading the disease if you have contracted it yourself. But Mr. Wallace showed that he knows more than any of us this past week during the Presidential debates so he thinks we should listen.

Next Sandra Smith from FOX shared with Wallace portions of a statement from Dr. Scott Atlas about President Trump’s situation. She shared in part:

Dr. Scott Atlas, a special adviser on coronavirus to President Trump, said Friday he expects the president and first lady to make a “complete, full and rapid recovery” after the two tested positive for COVID-19, adding, “there is zero reason to panic.”

During an exclusive interview with Fox News, Atlas said the novel coronavirus is an infection “that is very difficult to avoid.”

“It is no surprise that people get the infection, even with precautions,” Atlas said. “I anticipate a complete and full and rapid recovery back to normal after his necessary confinement period. I anticipate he’ll be back on the road and in full swing.”

Atlas is not the president’s personal physician, but a special adviser on the coronavirus pandemic and a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

Atlas called the president a “super vigorous man,” adding that he has “never seen anyone with more energy and more vigor, at any age, but particularly at his age.”

“He is a very, very healthy guy,” Atlas said. “And the overwhelming majority of people, even at his age, do fine with this. He is very healthy, and so I anticipate the same for him.”

‘Michigan Is Now Unlocked’: State Supreme Court Strikes Down Emergency Powers Law

The Michigan Supreme Court on Friday struck down a 1945 law that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has been using to keep the state locked down since April.

Whitmer has repeatedly extended a “state of emergency” for the past several months and pointed to a World War II-era law to do so, most recently lengthening it until October 27.

But today, the basis for the ongoing lockdown was ruled unconstitutional.

The Court concluded the Emergency Powers of Governor Act:

…is in violation of the Constitution of our state because it purports to delegate to the executive branch the legislative powers of state government–including its plenary police powers–and to allow the exercise of such powers indefinitely. As a consequence, the EPGA cannot continue to provide a basis for the Governor to exercise emergency powers.

House Speaker Lee Chatfield hailed the decision via Twitter:

“The Supreme Court ruled today in agreement with the legislature that the 1945 law is unconstitutional,” Chatfield wrote.

“The governor had no right to extend the state of emergency over the Legislature’s objection. Our Constitution matters, and this was a big win for our democratic process.”

“Michigan is now unlocked,” Fred Wszolek, spokesman for Unlock Michigan told Breitbart News.

Unlock Michigan has been leading a petition drive to repeal the same 1945 law. On Friday, the group submitted 593,000 signatures to force a vote by the legislature, Mlive reported.

“We argued from the beginning that unlimited powers for a politician were a terrible idea. Today, we know that they are also unconstitutional,” Wszolek said.

Joe Biden Hires Facebook Executive for Transition Team

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has reportedly hired Facebook executive Jessica Hertz to his transition team as its general counsel to oversee ethical issues.

The New York Post reports that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s transition team has hired top Facebook executive Jessica Hertz to its general counsel to oversee ethical issues. The move reportedly comes as the campaign struggles with Facebook to have posts by President Trump censored on the platform. This is the second Big Tech executive to join Biden’s campaign. Biden hired Twitter’s Director of Public Policy, Carlos Monje, as co-chair of the transition team’s infrastructure policy committee.

Hertz will reportedly be responsible for “enforcement, oversight, and compliance” of the ethics plan that Biden’s team unveiled this week.

The ethics plan reportedly follows similar guidelines set out by former President Barack Obama to restrict the role of lobbyists in the administration. Many on the left are not happy about the hiring of Hertz. Jeff Hauser, director of the leftist Revolving Door Project, told Politico: “The ultimate arbiter for ethics for the Biden transition was a senior regulatory official for Facebook up until a few months ago, at a time when progressives and the Biden campaign are fighting against the right-wing agenda of Facebook. Please make it clear that I think the Trump administration is insanely corrupt and I’m not equating the two, but this is deeply disappointing.”

Similarly, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, which has supported Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), also expressed displeasure over the hiring of Hertz. A spokeswoman Caitlin Lang told Politico: “Biden-Harris ethics rules should go as far or further than the Obama-Biden administration in banning corporate lobbyists, officers, or agents with conflicting loyalties from serving in the next Administration. These ethics rules unfortunately are not as strong as the Obama administration’s and do not come close to rebuilding trust in government or meeting this moment.”

Biden’s transition team defended the hiring with a spokesperson stating: “As the Vice President’s former deputy counsel with experience advising high level federal agency officials, Jess is exactly the kind of thoughtful and principled decision maker who can ensure the Vice President’s high standards are upheld during the transition.”

That included silencing Trump when he attempts to engage his opponent, or “cancel future debates.”

Pittsburgh sports journalist and self-described “comedian” Gene Collier said, “there was no point to this debate because there is no point in asking Donald Trump a question. He thinks things are true because he says them, and thinks any truth he doesn’t like is fake.”

Mexico’s President Suggests New Migrant Caravan Timed to Influence U.S. Presidential Election

Mexico’s President said the newly formed Central American migrant caravan appears to be a politically motivated development shortly before the U.S. presidential election. The bombshell allegation comes as Mexico prepares to face thousands of migrants at its southern border with likely intentions to reach the U.S.

During his daily news conference, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) said Mexico was “not sucking their thumb” as they prepared for the new migrant caravan that he claimed appears to be more politically motivated rather than a humanitarian cry for help.

“We find it very weird, very awkward, that this caravan begins on the eve of the U.S. presidential election,” Lopez Obrador said. “This is too much of a coincidence–how is it that in Honduras, where they have a lockdown, they are allowing this group to form?”

Despite the Coronavirus crisis in Central America, an estimated 6,000 migrants crossed into Guatemala on their way to Mexico. The caravan was organized via social media with specific plans to trek from Central America, through Mexico, and eventually reach the U.S. border to request asylum.

During his daily news conference, Mexican President Lopez Obrador said they were preparing to deal with the situation and sought to avoid a confrontation. He echoed concerns that the caravan would actually try to provoke tension.

“I don’t have all the facts yet, but there are clues that point to this being done for [political reasons]…I don’t know in favor of who–but we are not sucking our thumb.”
