To keep on top of issues affecting employees across DoD, AFGE has created an advisory organization called the Defense Conference, or DEFCON for short. Elected leaders from councils and committees representing DoD workers voluntary serve on DEFCON’s steering group, helping to organize new members, promote AFGE’s legislative agenda, train local activists, and provide insight into important issues affecting front-line workers.
