he needs a different phrase for "democratic processes," more like "representational processes." he may have good intent and simply not have the precise words.

 

"democratic" has been conflated in a few ways, as a party name and as a process, as a system of government.

 

remember in the star wars sequel where jar jar binks makes a speech in their senate and ends it with "for the republic, for democracy" and people cheer. most people don't know the difference. hope the new 1776 program teaches that.

to complete the thought, many americans under a certain age probably got more governmental education from that star wars movie than from any kind of history or civics class.
