The FIRST event since COVID began that POTUS team wasn't exclusively in charge of setting up/having only their people there, and he gets COVID.

Could be to see them try and postpone ACB.
Could be to isolate POTUS from leaks at WH. With COVID, working from the office at Walter Reed would prevent anyone but immediate circle from getting near/around POTUS.
Or USSS found out about a plot to infect POTUS at debate, and they're playing along to see who shakes out of the woodwork and incriminates themselves.
My brother's boss had it (supposedly) and all my family can talk about is how he lost his sense of smell. Like it's a HUGE big deal.
As if you don't lose that with every single fucking cold and flu you get.
