Interesting post in notables.
Thinking out loud here, but if there was going to be some outright deception like that, wouldn't it make sense to do it with the military (mostly, apart from a few insiders)? The military has to obey POTUS orders (unless they are outright illegal or unethical), but civilian WH staff (not in the inner loop) might feel obliged to "speak out". So Walter Reed staff might work.
