There are significant gaps between the positions of London and Brussels on what their future trade relations should look like, but finding an agreement “if at all possible” is important, the British PM’s office has said.

An update on the progress of the UK-EU trade agreement talks was given on Saturday by the office of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson after he spoke with Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission.

The parties “agreed on the importance of finding an agreement, if at all possible, as a strong basis for a strategic EU-UK relationship in future,” the statement said.

Johnson and von der Leyen noted that some progress has been made in the talks in recent weeks, but that at the same time “significant gaps remained, notably but not only in the areas of fisheries, the level playing field, and governance.”

Time is running out for hammering out a new trade agreement between Britain and the EU. They will switch to general World Trade Organization rules next year unless a deal is made.

Earlier this week, the EU launched legal action against the UK over the proposed legislation on the internal British market, which would breach the terms of the Brexit agreement regulating the situation in Ireland if passed into law.

While there is certainly no shortage of non-cops who abuse children, being a police officer gives many cops the ability to cover their crimes or puts them in positions of authority and trust that allow them to prey on children. All too often, even when they are caught, cops receive special treatment under the law and in their employment.

If your job is to arrest people for DUI and you get a DUI, you should be fired and stripped of your law enforcement license for betraying the trust of the community you serve. Yes, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but if your job is to enforce the law and you are recorded on another police officer’s dash camera, driving while intoxicated, you need to be fired.

But that did not happen when officer Tristan Thigpen got his DUI in 2018. Instead, he’s been on paid vacation ever since. And, while he was on paid vacation — for violating his oath and betraying the community — he has since allegedly raped a child.

While on paid vacation, Thigpen is accused of sexually abusing a “young child.” During a press conference this week, State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced multiple charges against Thigpen for the alleged repeated sex abuse of a child, who Thigpen knew.

The charges that Thigpen face include:

Sex abuse of a minor

Third-degree sex offense

Second-degree assault

Fourth-degree sex offense

According to prosecutors, the victim was a household member, meaning it could have even been his own child. While they haven’t provided specifics of how they learned of the abuse, officials noted they found out about it through “various law enforcement agencies.”

What did Scalise say?

Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), the ranking member on the House Committee on House Administration has been urging Pelosi to implement "a comprehensive health monitoring system and testing program for our Capitol Hill campus in order to help us do our part to stop the spread of coronavirus."

But she has so far refused to take action, Scalise explained on "Fox and Friends."

"I mean these protocols have been out there and the testing capabilities have been out there for a long time. They were offered to the speaker and she turned it down," Scalise said. "I think it's something that should have been in Congress for a few weeks now. But ultimately that's what the speaker decided to do."

Seattle rioters launch firecrackers INSIDE Starbucks after smashing storefront

A group of activists attacked a Starbucks in Seattle, shattering the coffee shop’s windows and then setting off fireworks inside the building. Police arrived at the scene and ordered the rioters to disperse.

Black-clad protesters threw rocks and other projectiles at the business, while others used implements to destroy the windowed storefront. Video footage shows rioters lighting firecrackers and tossing them into the building. Several loud explosions can be heard as members of the mob cheer. The Starbucks was also sprayed with anti-police graffiti.

Law enforcement moved in and declared the protest a riot, warning the crowd to leave the area or face arrest. Police mounted on bicycles pushed the protesters back while demonstrators formed a wall of shields as they retreated down the street.

Seattle police posted photographs of other acts of vandalism carried out across the city on Saturday night. Authorities said that “multiple arrests” were made after “explosives” were thrown at officers.

This isn’t the first time that the popular coffee chain has been targeted by Seattle rioters. In July, a different Starbucks in the city was trashed by a mob.

Black Lives Matter and Antifa activists have held numerous protests in Seattle, with many of the demonstrations descending into property destruction and violence.

The city briefly became the home of the infamous CHAZ/CHOP “autonomous zone”, which was shut down after widespread lawlessness and violence in the protester-controlled area resulted in several deaths.

US Brings New Sanctions On Belarusian Officials Who "Undermined Democracy"

Both the US and EU have said they refuse to recognize Alexander Lukashenko after his Sept. 23 swearing in ceremony, pulling in essence the same thing it did in Venezuela (where the US still sees Juan Guaido as valid "interim president" instead of Maduro).

"The United States cannot consider Aleksandr Lukashenko the legitimately elected leader of Belarus," the State Department said last month. "The path forward should be a national dialogue leading to the Belarusian people enjoying their right to choose their leaders in a free and fair election under independent observation."

Despite no clear or firm evidence of election rigging and Lukashenko's favor yet to emerge from the disputed early August vote, the United States on Friday imposed sanctions on eight Belarusian officials.

The eight are accused of corruption and vote-rigging, and the EU imposed its own similar sanctions on 40 Belarusian officials.

“The United States and our international partners stand united in imposing costs on those who have undermined Belarusian democracy for years,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said while unveiling the sanctions.

According to Reuters over 13,000 people have been arrested, including prominent opposition leaders and activists, in a crackdown which has left the streets calmer in the past week than it had been the two months prior.

The 26-year ruling strongman Lukashenko has actually already long been under select US sanctions going back to 2006, but Washington's newest round did not target him, only some officials around him. However, UK and Canada did target him specifically with sanctions of their own this week. The official election tally gave Lukashenko about 80% of the vote, giving him victory and the start of a sixth term.

Assange ‘forced’ those behind war crimes ‘to look in the mirror,’ now faces revenge, John Pilger tells RT

Assange exposed Western hypocrisy and discovered “too much truth,” so his trial became a form of “revenge,” journalist and filmmaker John Pilger told RT’s Going Underground.

The main part of the extradition trial of Julian Assange came to a conclusion this week, and a decision is now expected to be announced in early January. Pilger, a long-time supporter of the WikiLeaks founder, closely monitored the proceedings, which were barely covered in the Western media despite the serious repercussions for journalism that a ruling to extradite Assange would entail.

Assange’s demise came because he provided “too much truth” and exposed Western hypocrisy, Pilger believes.

He made those who committed those war crimes, he forced them to look in the mirror… That’s his unforgivable crime.

The West’s self-perception is that it generally doesn’t do awful things, and that its politicians are mostly truthful and are held in check by an independent media. WikiLeaks showed all these things not to be true, Pilger said.

As a result, Assange was blatantly mistreated by the British justice system, both during his September trial at London’s Old Bailey and before that. He received an unprecedentedly harsh sentence for skipping bail, was locked up in a maximum-security prison with terrorists and violent criminals, was prevented from communicating with his defense team in a reasonable way, and faced numerous other injustices.

There has not been due process in this court; there has been due revenge.

Should Assange be extradited to the US and tried for things that are no different from what many other investigative journalists did for decades, it would set a dangerous precedent, Pilger warned. It would send a signal that the US can get to anyone in any country who dares to publish anything that is not to Washington’s liking.

Despite the stakes, the Western mainstream media has turned a blind eye to the trial, including those who were happy to do reporting based on WikiLeaks disclosures.

“The way they turned on their source because he wouldn’t be part of their collusive club has been a disgrace. They know it’s been a disgrace,” Pilger said.

Another Hate Hoax: After Months of Investigations Authorities Find No Evidence of Althea Bernstein Hate Crime

Another hoax crime.

In June 18-year-old Althea Bernstein — who is black or mixed — said four white boys attacked her while she was in her car at an intersection in Madison, Wisconsin. The white boys screamed racist slurs at the light-skinned woman. Then they threw lighter fluid and a match at her face.

Madison is one of the most liberal areas in Wisconsin.

The Black Lives Matter-Antifa mob destroyed a statue of an abolitionist and threw it in the lake this week.

Of course, the liberal media ran with the story. Bernstein was interviewed on ABC’s Good Morning America, included in a floor speech by Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D., Mass.), and received a phone call from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

But it was a hoax.

Federal authorities closed the case on the alleged hate crime saying they found no evidence of a crime.

Bernstein made national headlines on June 24 alleging that four white men in Madison lit her on fire, leaving her with burns on her neck and face. The men, she said, had directed a racial slur at her before throwing lighter fluid on her face. The incident was covered by national outlets from CNN to NBC News.

But federal authorities now say that they were unable to corroborate the details of her claims.

“After reviewing all available evidence, authorities could not establish that the attack, as alleged by the complainant, had occurred,” U.S. attorney Scott Blader said in a Friday statement. A statement from Madison’s chief of police stated that “detectives were unable to corroborate or locate evidence consistent with what was reported.”

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) said on Friday it regretted the accusations by US Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, which were made at a UN General Assembly meeting on Thursday on the anniversary of a landmark 1995 women’s conference.

UNFPA executive director Natalia Kanem said that any coercion of women was “against our practice and policy”.

“We accord the highest priority to voluntary sexual and reproductive health, rights and procedures,” she said.

“We have invited reviews of, in the case of UNFPA, our practice and procedures in the country of China, and for the past four years, the United States has not visited our programmes.”

The US cut funding in 2017 for the UNFPA, saying it “supports … a programme of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilisation”.

The United Nations said that was an inaccurate perception.

, who issued a statement on Thursday, both accused China of subjecting Uygurs and other minorities to forced abortion, forced sterilisation and involuntary implantation of birth control devices.

QAnon Reigns Free On Amazon Despite Its Recent Ban Of Proud Boys, Redskins Merchandise

Amazon continues to offer over 2,000 products related to the QAnon conspiracy theory on its marketplace, despite its recent bans on merchandise related to the Proud Boys and the Washington Redskins.

The QAnon conspiracy theory took off in late 2017 after an individual purporting to be a confidant of President Donald Trump began posting messages to anonymous internet message boards claiming that the commander in chief is secretly fighting Democrats and “deep state” operatives involved in a worldwide child sex trafficking ring.

The FBI specifically mentioned the QAnon movement in a May 2019 bulletin warning that fringe conspiracy theories are domestic terrorist threats that could drive “groups and individual extremists to carry out criminal or violent acts,” Yahoo News reported.

And on Friday the House voted overwhelmingly to approve a resolution condemning the fringe group by name. The resolution cited the Anti-Defamation League, which has said QAnon’s central tenets include anti-Semitic elements.

House Rules Chairman Jim McGovern called the QAnon conspiracy theory a “collective delusion,” according to NPR.

“We all must call it what it is: a sick cult,” the Massachusetts Democrat said.

Among the products related to the conspiracy theory available for purchase on Amazon’s marketplace include the 2019 book, “QAnon: An Invitation to The Great Awakening.”

“This book is a field guide to an important chunk of reality that’s been carefully hidden and wrongly discredited by the media. It reveals an extraordinary movement underway, a battle of epic proportions,” the book’s description on Amazon reads.

“Whether you know it or not, you’re involved because the result of this battle will determine the fate of your children and future generations both in America and around the world,” it continues.

The Amazon marketplace also offers a number of shirts and other clothing items with the QAnon logo and slogans linked to the conspiracy.

An enraged father allegedly punched a man accused of plying his teenager daughter with drugs and sexually assaulting her.

Jeremy John Rowe, 44, was arrested at his Thornlie home, in Perth, by the Child Abuse Squad on Thursday.

Police allege Rowe struck up a conversation with a 13-year-old girl at a shopping centre in Thornlie last Sunday.

A short time later they went to a nearby skate park a where it is further alleged Rowe gave the girl cannabis before sexually assaulting her.

Police later found the alleged victim unconscious and she was rushed to Perth Children's Hospital.

It has now been revealed police have also charged the victim's father with indecent dealing offences after he allegedly assaulted Rowe on Sunday, The West Australian reports.

Rowe has been charged with two counts of procuring a child to engage in sexual behaviour, two counts of indecently dealing with a child, one count of stupefying a child and one count of supplying cannabis

Police will allege the father went in search of his daughter and learnt that she had been with Rowe.

Rowe faced Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday charged with two counts of procuring a child to engage in sexual behaviour, two counts of indecently dealing with a child, one count of stupefying a child and one count of supplying cannabis.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court next Friday.

Francis on Sunday laid out his vision for a post-COVID world by uniting the core elements of his social teachings into a new encyclical, 'Fratelli Tutti' (Brothers All), which was released on the feast day of his namesake, the peace-loving St. Francis of Assisi.

The document draws its inspiration from the teachings of St. Francis and the pope's previous preaching on the injustices of the global economy and its destruction of the planet and pairs them with his call for greater human solidarity to address today's problems.

Francis had started writing the encyclical, the third of his pontificate, before the coronavirus struck and upended everything from the global economy to everyday life.

He said the pandemic, however, had confirmed his belief that current political and economic institutions must be reformed to address the legitimate needs of the people most harmed by the coronavirus.

'Aside from the differing ways that various countries responded to the crisis, their inability to work together became quite evident,' Francis wrote.

'Anyone who thinks that the only lesson to be learned was the need to improve what we were already doing, or to refine existing systems and regulations, is denying reality.'

Former Top Air Force Official Slams Trump over Reported 'Losers and Suckers' Remarks

The Air Force's former top civilian is responding to reports from last month that President Donald Trump made disparaging remarks about members of the U.S. military.

In an op-ed titled, "As Secretary of the Air Force, I met many airmen – no losers or suckers," published Thursday in the Colorado Springs Gazette, Deborah Lee James, who served as the service secretary between 2013 and 2017, gave personal examples of airmen she said she was privileged to meet, know or appreciate for their service and sacrifice.

Among the 660,000 airmen she oversaw, she met "patriots, warriors, mothers and fathers – courageous and selfless individuals willing to make tremendous personal sacrifice for a greater cause," James wrote.

"That's why I am so incensed by President Donald Trump's purported comments about our military," she added. "He has called general officers dopes and babies, has mocked prisoners of war, and he has questioned the integrity of career military officials. According to the Atlantic Magazine and confirmed by Fox News, he even called members of our military losers and suckers. During my tenure as secretary of the Air Force, I met many airmen. Never once did I meet a loser or sucker."

James cited examples, including Maj. Dana Lyon, whose husband, David, was killed in a roadside bomb attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, as well as Master Sgt. Brian Williams, who lost his left leg while clearing a Taliban compound. Instead of medically retiring, he decided to extend his service as an amputee.

"Dana Lyon is not a loser. Brian Williams is not a sucker," she said.

James noted others, such as Charles McGee of the famed Tuskegee Airmen and John Chapman, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in 2018, making him the first U.S. airman to receive the military's highest award since the Vietnam War.

McGee "has inspired a generation of service members by showing that we are stronger and more innovative when our force includes Americans of all races, ethnicities, genders, geographies, and backgrounds," she wrote. "Charles McGee is not a loser."

Chapman, a combat controller assigned to the 24th Special Tactics Squadron, originally received the Air Force Cross for his actions on March 4, 2002, in Afghanistan. After being shot several times and presumed dead, he regained consciousness and engaged the enemy in hand-to-hand combat, fighting alone on a mountaintop for about 70 harrowing minutes.

A journalist and cameraman from News2Share.com by the Twitter name of Ford Fischer posted the developments from Louisiana on Twitter Saturday. It was later picked up and spread across various twitter feeds.

One person was arrested after firing shots at the rally but it appeared to be an accidental discharge, according to one local report.

The reason I believe its important to report all sides of this issue is because our nation has been pushed by media reports into very dangerous political divisions and racial tensions have increased because of those divisions. More importantly, President Donald Trump’s supporters, along with the President himself, have been unfairly and wrongly accused by some members of the media, Democrats and far left wing extremists of being racists.

That type of propaganda is again dangerous and wrong, leading to the growth of extremist groups on both sides, as seen in this march in Louisiana.

Recently, President Trump was asked by Fox News host Chris Wallace at the first Presidential debates to denounce white supremacists groups, as well as a group known as the Proud Boys, whose founders claim is not a racist group but one that focuses on American nationalism.

Wallace asked the same question in 2016 and the President denounced it then.

Trump has denounced white supremacist including the KKK many times over the past year as well. He even recently announced that his administration has a proposal to designate the KKK and Antifa as terrorist organizations. He also called for making lynching a national hate crime and promised a pledge to increase access to capital in Black communities by nearly $500 billion.

By the way, these promises were made by Trump before Wallace asked him to denounce white supremacist groups during the debate. Still, the president is being held to different standards than anyone, and former Vice President Joe Biden, along with other Democrats and organizations they support are not.

Moreover, news outlets are not reporting the whole truth regarding extremist operations in the nation. We’ve seen this with the way news outlets have reported on the organization Black Lives Matter, after the horrific death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd at the hands of a police officer.

Heavy Rocket Strikes Hit Nagorno-Karabakh Capital (Videos, Photos)

On October 3, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces carried out intense rocket strikes on the city of Stepanakert, the capital of the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Deputies: Florida Man Says He Was ‘Testing The System’ By Requesting Vote-By-Mail Ballot For Dead Wife

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — On 09/17/20 deputies responded to the Supervisor of Elections office in reference to a Vote by Mail Ballot request for a woman who is deceased. According to Supervisor of Elections Mike Bennett, his staff received two Vote by Mail Ballot requests from a husband and wife at the same address. Upon review, they found that the request for the woman’s ballot had a different handwriting style from her original voter registration. Elections officials notified deputies after comparing what they determined were not matching signatures, and confirmed that the woman had died in 2018.

The suspect admitted to mailing in his deceased wife’s ballot request and told detectives that we was “testing the system to see if it worked.” Based on those statements and the evidence collected, detectives developed probable cause to charge the suspect with Requesting Vote by Mail Ballot on Behalf of Another Elector, a 3rd Degree Felony.

The case was sent to the State Attorney’s Office for review, and the SAO agreed to proceed with prosecution. On 10/01/20 Larry Wiggins was arrested at his home without incident.

Federal Debt Tops $27 Trillion for First Time

The debt of the federal government topped $27 trillion for the first time on Thursday, October 1, when it climbed from an opening balance of $26,945,391,194,615.15 to a closing balance of $27,026,921,935,432.41, according to data published by the U.S. Treasury Department.

Roughly $4 trillion of that debt was taken on by the government this year as a result of COVID-19 lockdown "stimulus" packages. The debt was largely financed by the Federal Reserve Bank printing money out of thin air.

This will not end well. Expect accelerating price inflation of goods consumers are buying–as opposed to discounts on goods they are not buying.

Violence on Melbourne beaches as police clash with dozens gathering and flouting social distancing rules

Violence erupted on a Melbourne beach as police clashed with members of the public seen ignoring social distancing rules to escape the city's unseasonable heat.

A group of people from Tarneit in the city's west had bragged online about ignoring restrictions and going to the beach in Altona, nearly 20 kilometres away, today.

When police quizzed them, they became aggressive towards officers.

One woman was issued three infringement notices and several others were fined.

In another incident on St Kilda Beach, a 32-year-old man was arrested after police asked him to wear a mask. A clash ensued in which they resorted to capsicum spray to subdue him.

"They just came and asked him in a nice way, wear your mask, and he said no," a witness told 9News.

"They asked him for his ID and he said, 'I'm not giving my ID, either.'"

The man was charged with assaulting police, drunk and disorderly conduct and breaching the Chief Health Officer's directions.

The incidents come as a Melbourne council has threatened to close local beaches to the public after crowds were seen ignoring social distancing rules.

Premier Daniel Andrews urged Victorians to remain vigilant with social distancing and getting tested, otherwise the state could see numbers in the hundreds again.

"We've just got to stay the course on this. We are so, so close — let's not any of us do anything that might undermine the very positive numbers, the very strong performance we have seen in recent days," Mr Andrews said today.

"The numbers are coming down, once we get them low, we can keep them low and we can open up again."

He said if people didn't do anything "silly or stupid" now, then Victorians would be able to continue to go to the beach this summer.

"I want to thank all those Victorians who were going to the beach and did so in full accordance with the rules, all of those Victorians who went to the park, who followed the rules and were able to connect with others, were able to get some sunshine and some fresh air, heavens knows Victorians have earned it, but it has got to be done in the right way," Mr Andrews said.
