I am very sympathetic and unavoidably empathetic with childhood sexual abuse survivors, however, there are millions of us who did not sell out on to join the 'defining deviancy down' team.
It's a shame some minimize the extent of childhood trauma and want to turn horrific childhood experiences into "they were mean to me at summer camp" and therefore claim "I deserve your sympathy."
