Daybaker here.

Speaking from experience, a newsfeed thread does not work.

This has been attempted both on this board and on previous boards.

Anons tend not to read more than one thread at a time, and no one tends to be dedicated enough to maintain it over time.

On a candid note, we have enough trouble with baking schedules and having quality bakers on hand; doing so for another thread is beyond this community's capabilities.

The first sentence is mostly bullshit; a newsfeed thread was implemented early on this board, along with the tools, resources, and archives threads.

That thread is now defunct because of your second sentence; it fell out of favor when nobody bothered to use it and everyone posted the news here anyway (twenty times, ffs. Anons need to read the damn threads).

Indeed.

Just a bit of history on the topic.

This would be ideal.

I'll posit that your first sentence is bullshit because I'm the one that made those aforementioned threads early on.

The goal was consolidation of major events (and tools, and resources, and archives) and happenings for easy access and resource management.

As the board evolved, it failed.

I don't care that it failed; I'm glad it failed. We now know that it doesn't work, and why, and why people believe it didn't work.

I have no desire to reinstate a newsfeed thread, precisely because it doesn't work.

You're welcome to believe what you like.

I agree with you that anyone pushing for such a thread is likely a shill or, at the very least, a well-minded idiot that needs to lurk moar.
