Maryland: "Washington County Public Schools on Sunday announced that board member Jacqueline Fischer resigned after social-media posts by her referring to scenarios on how President Trump could die from COVID-19. The resignation was announced in a news release from the school system.
"Mrs. Fischer’s resignation comes after posting comments regarding the President of the United States on her personal social media account. The comments do not reflect the views, positions, or opinions of WCPS (Washington County Public Schools) or the WCBOE (Washington County Board of Education)," the statement reads.
Fischer told Herald-Mail Media on Friday afternoon that she took back the comments, adding that she doesn't want anyone to die. Fischer said she made the posts out of frustration and she should have instead said she hopes Trump would lose in the election."
